Trial / Delay / Continuance / Extension of Time / Case Dragging On / Plea Negotiations / AVVO / Michael A. Haber, Esq. **ARRESTED / **305DUI

Q:    Trial still continued...  I know someone in jail for 3 felony charges, he has been in there over 8 months. The prosecution has evidence and trial is being continued over and over on the plea bargains by the defense. Why would it keep being continued? Can the case be dropped if defense continues instead of plea bargaining? How many times can they keep doing this its been continued 3 times already. Thank you.

Answered The case will not be dropped.

It is not uncommon for cases to be continued multiple times, especially if there are ongoing plea negotiations.

Why it is being continued or for how long it will be continued is anyone's guess. The best person to answer that question is your friend's lawyer.

I hope this has been helpful and wish you all good luck.
