While Cleaning his .22 Pistol a FL Man accidentally Shoots himself in the Arm but doesn't realize it for 3 Days when he finally Changed his Shirt ~ Call Michael A. Haber, Esq. @ 1-888-SHARK-8-1

I can't find a picture of FL resident, 37 y/o Michael Blevins but I did find several articles which all agree that he not only accidentally shot himself in the arm but that he didn't know that he had done so for three (3) days.

Per Volusia County Sheriff's deputies Michael Blevins checked himself in at Florida Hospital Fish Memorial on Saturday, May 7th, 2016.

Blevins told hospital staff that them he was cleaning a .22 caliber pistol on Thursday, May 5th when he held it against his chest to keep his dog from jumping near it.   As he stood up his back gave out, he fell and knocked his head against a glass coffee table.

Blevins told hospital staff and Sheriff's Deputies that he heard a gunshot but didn't feel pain from that, possibly because of medicine he takes for back pain.  He said that he went about his business until Saturday when he finally changed the long sleeved black shirt that he had been wearing for three days in favor of a light brown shirt and saw the entrance and exit wounds.

Unbelievably, police visited Blevins' home and they determined he had indeed shot himself by accident.

CHP Arrests Man for DUI when he is Found Sound Asleep in his Car and Behind the Wheel on San Diego Freeway Exit Ramp ~ Call Michael A. Haber, Esq. @ 1-888-SHARK-8-1

Meet California's own Jorge Zazueta.  That's him below...

And here he is asleep behind the wheel of his car at or about 3:00 am.

CHiP's (California Highway Patrol) Officers found George sound asleep / passed out in the driver's seat behind the wheel of a car with his foot on the brake on a San Diego freeway.  Officers woke George after knocking on the window several times and shining a flashlight in his face.  After taking, and reportedly failing, field sobriety tests, George was arrested for DUI.

Memo to the Folks:  It is tough enough to defend against DUI cases (especially when you are passed out drunk in the middle of the roadway and then you fail FST's which, btw, and although the cops don't have to and won't tell you - not in FL anyhow - that you do not have to perform - see the below HaberPA YouTube Webisode / VideoFAQ on FST's) but compounding the task with admissions of guilt is just plain self-destructive.

In this case George foolishly took to Facebook after his arrest, literally apologizing for his actions (you can read his Facebook admission below) and bellyaching about his arrest (which is a matter of public record) being published by local news media...

Memo to the Folks continued:  Anything that you post on social media can and will be used against you in a court of law.  As a standard condition of all of HaberPA's retainer agreements the following language is included:

Client understands that any statements that she makes about or relative to the Case are subject to being admitted into evidence against her interests in the Case.  Client expressly understands that such statements are not limited to those which may be verbally made and include any and all social media posts, comments, discussions, pictures, illustrations or representations, most specifically those made by Client but also those by others which may include Client.

When it comes to the subject of drinking and driving, the best advice that you are ever going to hear is:  "Don't do it!  Get a DD (Designated Driver), not a DUI".

Be smart{er than Jorge Zazueta}: Don't drink and drive, but, if you do, just say "NO{thing}", don't blow (in FL your 2nd subsequent refusal is a crime) and call me stat at 305-381-8686, 305-798-2220 or 1-888-SHARK-8-1.

Cops use Social Media to help Nab a Burglar who was dubbed the "Bathroom bandit" for Picking Apart Toilets in 8 Stores and Restaurants ~ Call Michael A. Haber, Esq. @ 1-888-SHARK-8-1

Meet 57 y/o Gilbert Duwayne Courts of Columbus, Ohio.  That's him below.

Du-wayne had been dubbed the "bathroom bandit" by the Columbus Police after a two week string of unsolved similar toilet tragedies between April 14 and 27, 2016.  At each targeted location Columbus cops were called to men's restrooms where they observed dismantled toilets and urinals (such as the one pictured below).

After unhygenic vandalisms at Mount Carmel West, 793 W. State St. (4/14 & 4/22), Applebees, 1590 Georgesville Sq. Dr. (4/26), Kmart, 2400 Stringtown Rd. (4/26), McDonalds, 1524 Georgesville Rd. (4/27), McDonalds, 800 Georgesville Rd. (4/27), Taco Bell, 1536 Georgesville R. (4/27), McDonalds, 4601 W. Broad St. (4/27) and McDonalds, 3636 W. Broad St. (4/27) Duwayne was finally arrested.  How? Social Media.

Columbus Cops went online, posting still photos from surveillance cameras showing Duwayne (the Bathroom Bandit) walking out of multiple local establishments with a backpack in which police said he was carrying the stolen urinal parts.

After Duwayne carried out heists against four different McDonald's locations and one Taco Bell restaurant on April 27th law enforcement went proactive.  Reportedly, Duwayne's choice of targets tickled pun-loving cops as the Columbus Division of Police posted stills on Facebook with the caption: "The suspect can't wash his hands of this crime, multiple felonies."

Well the public came through, Duwayne was identified, cops picked him up and he now faces twelve (12) counts of burglary and twelve (12) counts of vandalism.  (Cops reported that Duwayne admitted to stealing parts for scrap to support his drug habit.)

Memo to the Folks:  Cops are getting significantly more techo-intelligent by the day. With greater frequency law enforcement is turning to social media to assist them in solving crimes, but they also "use" the internet to "create" criminal opportunities (creating false profiles, phony websites, offering illicit, illegal or immoral good and services, etcetera).  Ergo, "Haber's Rules of Social Media # 1 - 5" (which you can view by clicking here), and you can watch HaberPA's YouTube Webisode on Social Media and the Law by clicking on the video link below.

Spelling FAIL! SoCar Man is Arrested when he is Caught Red Handed Spray-Painting "CHEETER" on his Ex-Girlfriend's Car ~ Call Michael A. Haber, Esq. @ 1-888-SHARK-8-1

Meet South Carolina's own Timothy Lee Trammell and his ex-girlfriend, Amy Patrick. That's them pictured below, in happier times...

Fast forward to May 6th, 2016 and re-meet Timothy Lee Trammell, lousy speller and dumb criminal extraordinaire.  That's his Union County, SoCar booking photo below...

Ole Timmy was spotted, in flagrante delicto, by a Union County Sheriff's Deputy as he was crouching next to a car with the word "CHEETER" painted across the passenger side in bright yellow spray paint.

As Timmy crouched he was observed to be holding a can of spray paint in his hand, prompting the Deputy to stop to investigate, which, in turn, prompted Timmy to flee. Unfortunately for Timmy he is no Jessie Owens, and he was quickly apprehended.

Timmy promptly admitted that he was mad at his ex-girlfriend and that he wanted to "get back" at her (presumably because she had "cheeted" on him).  Amy told cops to arrest him, which they did (for vandalism), and a search incident to arrest turned up several controlled substances - Lortab and Suboxone, neither of which Timmy had an Rx for, as well as a small amount of marijauna - leading to additional charges, both felony and misdemeanor.

Memo to the Folks:   If you take the time to plan a crime (for instance, if you get the spray paint, go to the target location and choose your intended message) then it's probably a good idea to leave your illegal drugs at home.  You might also consider the logistics (broad daylight + bright yellow spray paint + in public [probably] = FAIL!) beforehand. Finally... "Spell Check" (need I say more)?

60 y/o FL Man Travels to CN to Surrender to Police after receiving a letter advising of a 27 y/o Arrest Warrant for an alleged Theft ~ Call Michael A. Haber, Esq. @ 1-888-SHARK-8-1

Meet 60 y/o Randy Iannacone, a Pt. St. Lucie, FL resident.  That's him below...

Back in the 1980's Randy was employed as a custodian at the Norwalk Jewish Center, an entity which no longer exists.  One day in 1989 a television went missing from the Jewish Center and a police report was filed.  Shortly thereafter police actually found the stolen TV and it's "new owner" told law enforcement that Randy had given it to him as payment for a debt.  As the television's serial number matched that of the large TV taken from the Jewish center a warrant was issued for Randy's arrest, but, as he had moved to Florida, Connecticut police were unable to track him down.  And so the warrant remained outstanding.

Fast forward 27 years and Randy received a letter at his FL home telling him to report to police in his former hometown of Norwalk, CN.

And so now 60 y/o Randy traveled more than 1,000 miles from his house in Port St Lucie, FL to self-surrender at the police station in his former hometown of Norwalk, CN.

Randy arrived at the Norwalk Police Station with the sole intention of handing himself over to cops, and so he did and so he was arrested and charged with third-degree larceny.  Per Norwalk Police Lieutenant Paul Resnick:  "We try to go out and serve [a warrant] when we first get it, but sometimes people move. They're nowhere to be found.  This fellow ended up in Florida, so he came back and turned himself in, which is pretty cool."

Memo to the Folks:  The bottom line with warrants is that they suck; well that and that they  often times  end  up  in  your  untimely  and inconvenient incarceration.  When it comes  to  warrants,  anyone  anywhere  who has  knowledge  of  the existence of the warrant  has  2 choices:   Either  they  can choose  to  deal  with  it proactively,  in  an offensive  manner, or they  can choose to  deal with  it  as a stalker, living defensively, day to day, just waiting until it is ultimately served.  Note that warrants DON'T expire!

Memo to the Folks continued:  In this light warrants can be likened to cancer. If it exists (whether it is a warrant or cancer) then you have a problem. You can either choose to deal with the problem and hope for the best or you can wait for the problem to deal with you in its own natural fashion. In the former event it may or may not work out favorably for you, but, in the case of a warrant, at least the State and the Judge will have to acknowledge that you voluntarily chose to bring the matter to them, an undeniable fact that even an average defense lawyer should be able to use to your advantage during in your case. In the later event however, as with cancer, the longer that you choose to wait (whether paralyzed - figuratively or literally, in denial, self-pity or simply lost in hope and prayer that it'll heal itself / go away) then more time that it  (again, a warrant or cancer) will have to metasticize and destroy you later.

Memo to the Folks continued:  If you know that there is a warrant with your name on it, then deal with it, and deal with it sooner than later.  Contact a local criminal defense lawyer.  A skilled and experienced litigator will be able to diagnose your situation, tell you if you enjoy a defense to whatever may underlie your warrant, or whether or not there exists a reasonable explanation for your predicament.  A criminal defense lawyer can negotiate on your behalf and may even be able to have the warrant quashed.  If there is no alternative to being booked then a litigator can make it as painless as possible, arranging a surrender and preparing for foreseeable eventualities.
