Criminal Records / Background Check / Firearms / Possession of a Firearm by a Felon / Purchase Firearm / AVVO / Michael A. Haber, Esq. **ARRESTED / **305DUI

Q:    I would like to know if on my criminal background record, will it say adjudication withheld or convicted.. I'm trying to figure out if I can own a firearm legally, when I search my background on clerk of courts for my county it says my felony case is closed and "adjudication withheld" I just want to make sure that means that if I go into Wal-Mart to buy a rifle or shotgun there not going to tackle me;also I'm in the final part of getting my record sealed(to the best of my knowledge) and don't want to mess that up in any way.. thank you for your time and have a great day..

Answered If you have a withhold you should not have a problem, especially with a rifle (as opposed to a handgun). Please see the following link for a reasonable summary of Fl gun laws:
