ESCAPE FAIL! Intoxicated TX Man Flees Cops, Drives SUV into a Lake, Swims into Arrest for DUI, F&E and Drug Posssession ~ Call Michael A. Haber, Esq. @ 1-888-SHARK-8-1

Meet 40 y/o Daniel Basham of Arlington, Texas.   That's his mug shot below...

Danny-boy way arrested on Friday, November 10, 2017 for DUI, Fleeing and Eluding Police and Drug Possession after he led cops on an ill-fated and short-lived chase.

None of this is speculation, and Danny won't have much of a defense... all the Judge or jury (or you) need to do is to watch the 1 and a half minute dash cam video (which you can see by clicking here).

According to Arlington police the chase began after a person approached an officer and advised that a drunk driver might have run into their car twice.  After providing a description of the vehicle cops searched and spotted it quickly, and just as quickly Danny-Boy bolted.

Police dash cam video shows Daniel backing out of a driveway, whipping through a residential neighborhood, proceeding down a winding road and ending up on a straightaway which led toward a lake.

Given 2 choices - either A) stopping (and being nabbed) or B) proceeding straight into the lake (and presumably hoping to avoid arrest) - Daniel opted for choice B...

Once in the lake Daniel exited through his car's window and first attempted to swim to the other side of the lake, however he was quickly apprehended by police officers at the dock.

Although I can't find anything to suggest ether what his BAC was or what drugs he is suspected of being under the influence of, police reportedly ultimately recovered some sort of a controlled substance from inside of his vehicle.

Memo to Daniel Basham and the Folks:

Memo to Daniel Basham and the Folks continued:  When it comes to the subject of drinking and driving, the best advice that you are ever going to hear is:  "Don't do it!  Get a DD (Designated Driver), not a DUI".

Be smart{er than Joseph Maine}: Don't drink and drive, but, if you do, just say "NO{thing}", don't blow (in FL your 2nd subsequent refusal is a crime) and call me stat at 305-381-8686, 305-798-2220 or 1-888-SHARK-8-1.

UPS Delivery Man hears "Help Me" from house, Reports it to Police & responding Deputies find a lonely Parrot ~ Call Michael A. Haber, Esq. @ 1-888-SHARK-8-1

Meet Diego the parrot.  That's him below...

And here's Diego with Susan Baird, his human...

Finally here's Diego with Clackamas County, Oregon Sheriff' Deputy Sheriff Hayden Sanders...

Why the pictures and why is this newsworthy?

Because on Monday evening, November 6th, 2017 as UPS driver Lee Purdy was out making deliveries he heard a voice from a home saying "help me".  Apparently it wasn't life threatening but still, per Lee "it stuck with me" so when he got to his home, close to 11 pm, he called the non-emergency police line to report the incident.

Deputy Sanders was dispatched and responded to the home to find Diego, who is apparently both fond of, and quite adept at, screeching "help me".  Per Susan Baird, when she leaves his sight Diego has taken to operant conditioning by screaming out the words "help me" in an effort to convince Susan to come back to him.

Per UPS driver Purdy: “I was a little concerned at first that maybe somebody was, maybe an older person had fallen and couldn't get up, you know, was yelling for help and maybe the bird heard and started copying that” but he went on to say that his worry was quelled when the Sheriff's office called him back to tell him no one was hurt and that it was actually a parrot yelling “help me.”  Afterward the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office took to Facebook to advise the community that ".... Diego the parrot was uninjured and in no need of police assistance."

19 y/o Flees Scene of Armed Robbery, Arrested at Hospital after Gun in Waistband of Saggy Baggy Pants Discharges Shooting his Penis ~ Call Michael A. Haber, Esq. @ 1-888-SHARK-8-1

Meet 19 y/o Terrion Pouncy, would-be gangsta of Chicago.  That's him in a Facebook pic below...

This guy is not gonna get a MENSA membership invite anytime soon but he is a clear contender for...

On Tuesday, October 31st, 2017, this genius, donning his saggy, baggy pants with his boxers showing, went to Maxwell Street Express Hot Dog Stand in Chicago's South Side, with a loaded .38 and the intent to leave with cash, not Vienna Beef Chili Dogs...

Terrion pulled his gun and demanded cash from two employees at the hot dog stand, one of which had been holding a bucket filled with grease which spilled as they were handing over their wallets, causing the cash to go flying.

Under pressure Terrion went for the cash, but to do so he needed both hands, so he tucked his .38 inside of his waistband, grabbed what he could and promptly fled (** the pic below is NOT Terrion... it is a demonstrative tool intended to show how freaking stupid it is to shove a firearm into the waistband when your pants are not snug around your waist...  now take that image and multiply it by a factor of 10, because it is infinitely dumber to do so in the heat of the moment of an armed robbery gone awry...).

While fleeing from Maxwell Street Express Terrion's gun discharged and shot him in the penis.

Terrion made it a few blocks before he was forced to call 911 and advise that he had been shot (it is unknown whether he reported how or why...).

Police responded to, and arrested Terrian at, the hospital.  Why?  Because at the hospital they recovered:  1) the wallets that he stole from the Maxwell Street Express employees; 2) the .38 caliber gun that had caused the injury; and 3) the bloody boxer shorts / underwear that he was wearing which reportedly (I can't find the surveillance footage - believe me I looked) matched those that the armed gunman was donning during the robbery (reason # 147 why dressing like this is a bad idea...).

Apart from blowing his own dick off and facing two counts of armed robbery, 19 y/o Terrian has also been introduced to the "Law of Karma" (a man who commits an armed robbery of a hot dog stand shoots himself in the hot dog while fleeing the scene of the robbery... if that's not Karma then I don't know what is)...

Memo to the Folks:   This is a FAIL! on many levels.  Committing an armed robbery is never a good idea; but if you are going to commit a crime you should probably put in a little effort in planning, considering such things as how to minimize your odds at being identified and knowing whether or not the location has surveillance video cameras.  Most importantly, in all seriousness and regardless of the intended used, no mater who you are or how much training you may have, never ever take gun safety lightly.  Even pros sometimes do dumb things with guns...

Memo to the Folks continued:   This may not be politically correct but I don't really care (my blog my opinion):  Wearing saggy baggy pants is stupid, but shoving a gun, much less a loaded and cocked firearm, into them is galactically stupid.   Guys who do this need to get 2 things:  1) a freaking belt and 2)...

Memo to Terrion Pouncy:  Congratulations.  You have successfully destroyed your life.  You shot your own dick (how badly I don't know but does it really matter... you'll never be the same) and at age 19 you are probably going to prison for life.  As Lorenzo Anello (Robert De Niro in A Bronx Tale) would say, and I agree, "the saddest thing in life is wasted talent", and you are a classic case of "wasted talent".

Faulty Intelligence leads to Knock on Apartment Door Resulting in Recovery of 97 lbs of Marijuana & $931,000 in Cash ~ Call Michael A. Haber, Esq. @ 1-888-SHARK-8-1

On Friday, October 27th, 2017 NYPD responded to an apartment at 899 Montgomery Street in Brooklyn.

NYPD presence occurred at the request of the Jersey City Police Department, who sought local help in following up on intelligence that an individual wanted on arson and terror threat charges was secreted inside of the Brooklyn apartment.  And so, presumably based upon their "mutual aid agreement", the NYPD obliged

When NYPD Officers knocked on the door 36 y/o apartment resident Humphrey Olivo answered.  When he opened the door NYPD Officers claim to have been able to see a large amount of marijuana in plain view.

Having observed the marijuana, and being conscientious cops who would never ever violate anyone's Constitutional rights, the NYPD Officers locked down the premises while they applied to a neutral and detached magistrate for a search warrant.

Although the arson and terror threat suspect was not located, once secured a thorough search of the apartment revealed 97 pounds of marijuana and $931,000.00 in cash, and three (3) people were arrested, including tenants Humphrey Olivo (who had answered the door) and 30 y/o  Yazmin Olivo, both of whom were charged with criminal possession, criminal sale, and criminal use of marijuana, and also 28 y/o Jose Pichardo who was charged with criminal possession and sale of marijuana as well as having been given a criminal use of drug paraphernalia charge.

Memo to the Folks:  Whether you are involved in any sort of illegal activity or not, when the cops come knocking on your door (your home being your castle) unless  they are armed with a warrant then you do not have to answer, engage or open-up.  BUT, if you do, then you are literally opening the door to whatever may follow, be it true or manufactured.  Ergo my across-the-board advise:  Through a closed door politely advise the man that they should...

Memo to the Folks continued:  Absent the most extreme of circumstances law enforcement needs a warrant to search your premises.  To be sure there are ways for them to get around the warrant requirement - such as your consent or your literally "opening your door" and exposing yourself to the plain view exception - but, unless you are a masochist then there is no reason for you volunteer yourself for an arrest.  It is a fact that...

Memo to the Folks continued:  To be sure there are ways around the warrant requirement (I mean apart from the cops lying).  Please take a look at #HaberPA's VideoFAQ # 68 - "What is the Exclusionary Rule and how can the Cops sidestep it?" by clicking on the video link below...

Memo to the Folks continued:  Whether you are involved in any sort of illegal activity or not, when the cops come knocking on your door (your home being your castle) then just say "No".
