Florida Man Denies Ownership of 20 Pieces of Crack Cocaine which were Found during Police Search being "Concealed Beneath his Genitals" ~ Call Michael A. Haber, Esq. @ 1-888-SHARK-8-1

Meet 24 y/o Deondre G Lumpkin of St Petersburg, Florida.  That's his mug shot below.

Per a Largo Police Department police report (a copy of which you can see below) Deon had been stopped for a routine traffic infraction.  When the officer approached he smelled marijuana (giving the LEO "PC" - probable cause - to transform the temporary detention info a criminal investigation) and, upon inquiry, Deon reportedly consented to a warrantless search.

The vehicle search allegedly resulted in the officer finding an envelope containing marijuana and five cell phones, which in turn led to Deon's arrest and a search of his person incident to his arrest.  Per the arresting officer "During the search [of Deon] the def would not widen his stance and was clinching his buttocks.  [So] The def was transported to the PD fora more thorough search."

At the police station and "Prior to conducting the secondary search the def admitted to having crack cocaine concealed beneath his genitals."  Dean reportedly admitted that "the marijuana was his, but denied that the cocaine belonged to him."

Memo to the Folks:  Forgetting possession / possession with intent and committing traffic infractions while in possession / possession with intent, lets tally up Deon's mistakes:  1) Smoking dope in his car while carrying dope (alternatively not properly packaging his supply to avoid human olfactory detection); 2) Consenting to a warrantless search of his vehicle; 3) Speaking to the cops about his case; 4) Admitting to possession of marijuana (or of anything for that matter); and 5) Denying ownership of the crack that was, literally, hidden in his crack.  After this debacle there are a bunch of Founding Fathers rolling all over their graves....

Mortuary Worker is picks up Corpse at CA home and is subsequently Arrested for Stealing a Car and a Gun which belonged to the Deceased ~ Call Michael A. Haber, Esq. @ 1-888-SHARK-8-1

Meet 41 y/o Fernando Moguel.  That's him below...

Fernando, a mortuary worker, was arrested in North Hollywood, California for grand theft of a vehicle and possessing a stolen firearm, having been accused of stealing a dead man's car and gun after picking up the deceased owner's body at a Lancaster, California home.

Fernando was dispatched to the elderly man's home to take his body to a mortuary and, per authorities, within 48 hours of the man's death his car and gun went missing from the house.  When the missing car's title was transferred to Fernando's name the cops searched Fernando's home (presumably armed with a warrant) and found both the gun and car.

Memo to the Folks:  Not that they are any less serious but "property crimes" are often times treated less severely than are crimes against persons.  Still, aggravating factors occur, such as stealing from the dead, which will get a prosecutor's, a Judge's and a Jury's attention.

Memo to the Fernando Moguel:  Just for you pal....

While Driving his Daughter to School a Single Dad gets Arrested on 14 year old NoCar Theft Warrant issued for failure to Return a VHS Tape of "Freddy got Fingered" in 2002 ~ Call Michael A. Haber, Esq. @ 1-888-SHARK-8-1

Meet James Meyers, 37 year old single father, musician, author... fugitive?

James may also be the only person who ever watched "Freddy Got Fingered"...

But even if other folks did watch the movie James is likely the only viewer who was ever directly contacted by the flick's, er, star", Tom Green...

I don't know what a call from Tom Green is worth but I'm pretty sure that the value is far less than having a warrant served on you during a routine traffic stop while you are driving your year old daughter to school...

The incident began in 2002 when James rented a VHS copy of "Freddy Got Fingered" from J&J's Video in Kannapolis, a business which went out of business years ago. Fast forward to Tuesday morning, March 22, 2016, when James was pulled over while driving his daughter to school.  James was kept on the roadside by a Concord, NC Police Officer for 20 minutes before ordering him to exit his car.  James reported that his daughter was terrified and had been "bug-eyed" in the back of the vehicle as she asked her father if he was going to be arrested.  Per James: "'(The officer) said 'Sir, I don't know how to tell you this, but you rented a movie in 2002, Freddy Got Fingered and there's a civil suit they processed as a criminal case and we're here to take you to jail."  The cops were kind enough to permit James to take his daughter to school but ordered him to return to the police station immediately afterward, which he did.

James arrived at the Concord PD where he was handcuffed, booked and advised of a Court date for failure to return rental property, a Class 3 misdemeanor in NoCar (which  carries a fine of up to $200).  Not surprisingly James was unhappy about the incident and so he called out the system as he took to social media saying:  "That's what my local police force are up to. They are chasing people for movie rentals that don't even exist any more. This is what my tax dollars pay for.  Good job NC, your incompetent institution never ceases to amaze me."  And James' social media rant did not go unnoticed...

Tom Green, a Canadian comic and the "star" of Freddy got Fingered saw news of James' arrest and Tweeted:  "I just saw this and I am struggling to believe it is real." At that time Green was on out tour in Australia yet he managed to get a hold of James and personally apologize for the arrest after renting his cult movie.  The 44-year-old comedian reportedly promised to put in a good word with the court and has even offered to help out with legal fees saying "If it's 200 bucks of course I'll pay it for him, just for the principle of the thing."

While James remains furious about his arrest he reportedly said the incident had not dulled his love for the movie that started it all.  In fact he reportedly re-watched the goofball comedy after his arrest, and although the medium was not reported I;m betting that it was not on VHS...

OH Man Convicted of Theft Choses to Wear a sign that says "I am a thief" 8 hours a Day for 10 Days in front of Walmart that he Stole from in lieu of Jail ~ Call Michael A. Haber, Esq. @ 1-888-SHARK-8-1

This is the Liberty Township, Ohio Walmart....

And this is 43 year old Greg Davenport, who was caught in December, 2015 trying to walk out of the store with a 52-inch television without paying.

And, having been found guilty of theft, here is Greg serving his sentence...

A Girard Municipal Court judge found Greg guilty of theft and then gave him a choice during sentencing:  Greg was given the option of serving 30 days in jail or wearing a sign saying "I am a Thief I stole from WalMart" in front of the store for eight (8) hours a day for ten (10) days.   Greg made the right decision; he chose the sign.

Greg spoke to a local TV station reporter while wearing his sign (you can see the story by clicking here), saying said that the sign is better than being in jail and that he he chose it so he could take care of his parents.  "I stole, I got punished", and now Greg just wants to finish his punishment.

During Greg's ten (10) day sentence every other hour some one will come out to make sure that he is walking the street in front of WalMart and is wearing the sign. In the meantime Liberty Police Chief Richard Tisone said that he hopes that the sign is sufficiently embarrassing that Greg, who reportedly has a number of previous petty charges against him, does not steal again.  "Maybe they’re a little embarrassed by the fact they have to hold a sign up, so it might affect some of these individuals, so I’m all for it."

Double Barreled Pistol which is Designed to look just like a Smart Phone meets Controversy from Anti-Gun Activists and Law Enforcement ~ Call Michael A. Haber, Esq. @ 1-888-SHARK-8-1

Get ready for "Ideal Conceal", a double barreled, .380 caliber pistol that folds down to mimic a smartphone, complete with mock camera lens, headphone jack and a clip to attached to your pocket or belt loop...

The company, Ideal Concept, claims the pistol, which is presently awaiting a patent, will be available for sale in mid-2016 at a list price of $395.00.  Per the company the "Ideal Conceal" is "Ingeniously designed to resemble a smartphone, yet with one click of the safety it opens and is ready to fire."  Just as a smartphone can clip to your pocket or belt loop, so too does the Ideal Conceal, which has clip on the side of the piece allowing you to literally hide it in plain sight.  The weapon is designed to normally be carried with the safety on and the grip hides the trigger and trigger guard, but as soon as you turn the safety off the grip swings open and the wanna be "smartphone" transforms into a fully loaded weapon.

Not surprisingly this design has caught the attention of many gun enthusiasts who anticipate its release, but anti-gun organizations and law enforcement simultaneously worry about how it will contribute to future gun violence.  Some have called the weapon "not only dangerous, but... also irresponsible", and others have opined that people, and most especially kids, "could see this and just think it is a smartphone or might mistake a smartphone for a gun because of this".  There are even conspiracy theorists who claim that the "Ideal Concealwas devised by criminals as a way to trick for police officers.

In the interim Ideal Concept is advertising the "Ideal Conceal" as a lightweight one-piece frame with a hammerless firing system that is made with locally produced parts right here in America ("100% Made in America").  Ideal Concept has reportedly said that since smartphones are everywhere, the pistol will "easily blend in with today's environment", allowing you to carry and no one will know it.  Ideal Concept reportedly claims to "support law enforcement 100%!!" and says that their new design is geared towards folks with CCW permits who "wants something he can conceal from the view of an attacker for self-defense".

Memo to the Folks:  Me I'm both a free market and a 2nd Amendment kinda guy, but I am also painfully aware both of just how many irresponsible jack wagons there are out there in our society and the damage that can be and is done by said irresponsible jack wagons, especially when it comes to firearms, and so, sadly, I expect that more harm than good will come from this particular product.
