Answered I cannot speak for any other lawyer but for myself, I do not quote fees based upon charges, ever. Charges are what they are (a DUI is a DUI is a DUI), but the underlying facts and circumstances vary greatly from individual case to individual case (a DUI can cost $2,500, $5,000, $10,000, etc.). Your fraud and GT case may require a little, a moderate, a lot or a ridiculous amount of legal work.

In your case there may be motions to dismiss, suppress, other pre-trial evidentiary matters, there could be none or any number of depositions, you might have co-defendants (requiring multiple defense attorneys and then taking into account all sorts of scheduling matters)...

The bottom line is that without both conducting a comprehensive review of the allegations against you (reviewing police reports) and having a thorough discussion about the facts and circumstances of your case (and you - you could have no priors, a lot of priors, no special circumstances, all sorts of special circumstances, etc.) with you I would not venture a guess at what YOUR charges are going to cost YOU.

Further, if any lawyer casually tosses a fee in the air without first engaging in at least some level of scrutiny about your case then I urge you to walk away, quickly, and find another lawyer. Any criminal case is serious (in today's internet / information era, even a simple misdemeanor - much less felony charges that are categorized as "crimes of moral turpitude" - can haunt you for the rest of your life), and mostly to you.

Although I practice primarily in Miami-Dade County you are welcome to contact my office for a referral or two, or you can search the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers website by locality (please see http://www.facdl.org/- and click on the "Find A Lawyer" tab).
