Answered . Lawyers are licensed (in FL anyhow) to practice law. They are not restricted as to any particular area of the law by the Bar, only by their own decision and respect for their own limitations. For example, I am a criminal defense lawyer and do not engage in practicing any other legal work whatsoever. I can, technically, but I do not. Why? Because not withstanding 22 years of litigation experience it would be malpractice for me to take on a transactional real estate matter (I get hives just typing that...). That said, if a given lawyer is comfortable in handling a given matter then, so long as s/he is not disbarred, s/he will generally not be restricted from doing so.
