Answered . I cannot speak to anyone else's business model but I do not quote fees based upon charges.
Every case is different, as is every Defendant. I quote fees based upon my evaluation of the facts and circumstances, the agreed litigation objective and how much time and effort I except (based upon my 22+ years of experience) to expend on a given client's behalf. In my opinion, if anyone quotes you a fee without first discussing such matters with you then you should run, not walk away.
That said, you should find yourself an experienced J-ville area criminal defense lawyer, make and appointment, show up on time and engage in a face to face conversation about you and your case. Although I practice primarily in Miami-Dade County you are welcome to contact my office for a referral or two, or you can search either Avvo or the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers website by locality (please see http://www.facdl.org/ - and click on the "Find A Lawyer" tab).
