Secret Service Agents Crash into White House Barricade after Drink-Driving & are sent home ~ Call Michael A. Haber, Esq. @ 1-888-SHARK-8-1

It's no secret that the Secret Service has had it's share of snafu's as of late...

Among their many duties the Secret Service is charged with protecting the President and the White House.

But, yet again, Homeland Security Department has been called in to investigate Secret Service Agents for poor judgment and criminal behavior.  This time it's senior Secret Service agents Mark Connolly (who is the second-in-command on President Barack Obama's security) and George Ogilvie (a senior supervisor in the Washington field office), who are accused of crashing a government car into a White House security barrier after drinking at a late-night retirement party for departing Secret Service spokesman Edwin Donovan and then driving last week.

Officers on duty who witnessed the incident reportedly tried to detain the agents and conduct a sobriety test, but a supervisor reportedly told them to let the men go home (which is a scandal - arguably a worse scandal then the drink-driving incident in and of itself).  According to the witnesses the Agents had their flashing lights on and were showing their badges as they tried to get through a section of the grounds that had been closed as a suspicious package was being investigated.  It was then that they struck the barricade, after also driving through some security tape.

This crash investigation is the latest embarrassment for the Secret Service.  These guys are supposed to be the elite, but instead many of them have proven to be anything but.  This is another national embarrassment which was compounded by apparent and obvious favoritism (in officers being ordered NOT to either investigate or arrest people who, had they not been Agents, would have been both investigated and arrested) and a lack of accountability (these knuckleheads were neither fired nor even suspended, and, instead, have been "reassigned to non-supervisory, non-operational jobs").  It's not rocket science to figure out that when you fail to "police the police" there can be no confidence in their authority.

Memo to the Secret Service:  Do your freaking job.  Protect the President.  Scare the crap out of anyone threatening harm to the First Family and the White House.  Show authority and strength and dedication.  From hookers in hotels to allowing armed civilians to breach security to drunk driving... Get your act together and REPRESENT THE USA with some freaking pride.
