Chris turned 21 on Sunday, March 1st, 2015, and he got to spend his birthday in the Volusia County Jail, being booked on charges of aggravated battery and battery after he shot his sister in the ass with a BB gun.
Chris' sister had punked her brother by baking him a birthday cake, only she shaped it like a penis, and apparently Chris failed to see the humor in his sister's prank.
Note that this (above) is not THE cake. Scour the internet as I did I could not find a picture of he cake that got old sissy shot in the ass, but I did find a bunch of phallic-based cakes...
Obviously I could keep going but you get the point, still I dare speculate that none of those bakers got shot in the ass for their efforts... but I digress. So, in this case birthday boy Chris gets all persnickety, grabs his BB gun, takes aim and pops his sister in the butt, lodging a BB underneath the skin, resulting in her calling 911. By the time that the cops arrived sis had cooled off, refusing medical treatment or transportation to the hospital (she advised that she'd drive herself over there to have the round projectile removed) and asking that her brother NOT be arrested. However, that was one birthday wish that the Volusia County Deputies were not going to grant, and they took Chris away, in cuffs, and charged him with a felony, thus providing you, the Folks, with a valuable lesson: Once the cops are called you concede control and no longer - insert bad pun here - call the shots. If you don't want him / her to be arrested then deal with it "in house" and don't dial 911.
That said, while BB guns are not "firearms" and they do not subject you to either 10-20-LIFE or other minimum mandatory sentencing enhancements you should be aware that they can cause damage. Even low-power airguns - like the famous Daisy Red Ryder - have muzzle velocity of 350 feet per second, which is enough to break the skin. Others, which can be used to kill small game, can shoot projectiles at velocities of more than 2,000 feet per second. In this case it is not known what kind of BB gun that Chris used.
