All families have issues. This is a fact. Families argue about stupid and meaningless stuff that non-family members wouldn't waste a moment on, and sometimes, because they are family, passions escalate to dangerous levels. This was the case in Baton Rouge, LA on Sunday, March 22nd, 2015, when the Duke's patriarch, 58-year-old Eldridge Duke (pictured below), went "gangsta" on his 18 y/o son.
Family members told the cops that the shots were fired after a Sunday morning breakfast when the father and son got into a fight over the the orange juice ran out.
Apparently pops was mad about there being no more OJ, but when his son reacted by breaking a vase, well, that took things to a whole different level, prompting Eldridge to go for the .357.
Eldridge now faces a charge of attempted manslaughter and illegal use of a firearm after he chased his son out of the house and down the street, firing at least three times and striking his son once in the buttocks (which, fortunately, proved to be a non-life-threatening injury).
Memo to the Folks: Obviously this is an extreme case but the point to be taken from it is that domestic violence is a serious matter. Whatever the basis, whomever the antagonist or protagonist, as Sir Patrick Stewart (a/k/a Caption Picard) so brilliantly said:
Just remember that DV is a 2-way street... It cuts both ways:
