Cops never know what's going to happen on a given traffic encounter, and on Sunday, March 22nd, 2015, Green Township, Ohio Police Officers drove-up on a doozie...
Officers' observed a "visibly upset woman" standing outside of a car which was stopped on the shoulder of I-74. They stopped to investigate and here is what they saw....
I'm sorry. That was a little misleading. That (the picture above), is 39 y/o Larry Messer's mug shot, which was taken well after Larry had been brought back to consciousness with a little help from "Narcan" (an antidote for opiate overdoses).
When the Green Township Officers first met Larry he was passed out. Apart from observing his upset wife standing outside of the distressed vehicle and Larry in the driver's seat and "slumped over the steering wheel" the popo also saw Larry's two (2) kids, who are unnamed but aged two (2) years and seven (7) months old, inside of the vehicle. What exactly led cops to believe that Larry had OD'd on heroin is unknown, but that is precisely what they swear that they thought, so they called in paramedics who administered the Narcan, which apparently worked as Larry quickly came to, as expected.
Once able to do so Larry allegedly admitted to having injected himself with heroin prior to heading out with the fam onto the interstate (sealing his arrest for two (2) counts of child endangerment). he reportedly also said that his wife, who has not been named, had to grab the steering wheel and bring the car to a stop on the side of the road because he had passed out (there's a DUI right there). Then, incident to Larry's arrest the vehicle was inventoried, and inside cops found "numerous meth pipes, a spoon, hypodermic needles and a loaded syringe filled with heroin as identified by Messer" (thus the possession of controlled substances, drug paraphernalia and "possessing drug abuse instruments").
Larry is not winning any parenting awards anytime soon. In fact, Larry has joined the Epic Parenting FAIL! Club, along with some of these others...

Memos to Larry:

When it comes to the subject of drinking or controlled substances and driving, the best advice that you are ever going to hear is: "Don't do it! Get a DD (Designated Driver), not a DUI".
Be smart{er than Larry Messer}: Don't drink OR DO HEROIN and drive (especially with kids in the car), but, if you do, just say "NO{thing}", don't blow (in FL your 2nd subsequent refusal is a crime) and call me stat at 305-381-8686, 305-798-2220, **ARRESTED, **305DUI, **MIAMIDUI, **MIAMILAW or **HABERLAW.
