Mother of 5 kills her 2 y/o in ATV wreck w/ improper security and a combo of .173 BAC & Barbiturates
Meet Angela Russell of Oklahoma. That's her mug shot below....
On Monday, March 9th, 2015 Angela, the 34 y/o mother of five (5) children, was charged with the 2nd degree murder of her two (2) year old daughter (who is pictured below).
The charge stems from a September 2014 incident where Angela had gone out for a ride on her 2013 Honda 4-wheel ATV (like the one shown below).
Angela had taken Ava along for the September 27th, 2014 joyride, without using any sort of a helmet and simply strapping the child to her chest in a forward-facing device. Accident investigators ultimately determined that Angela lost control of the ATV causing her and Ava to be thrown forward and for Angela to have landed the ground, face-forward, with the two-year-old still attached to her front. Ava died on the scene from blunt impact injuries to the head and Angela's blood recently came back from the crime lab with a with a BAC of .173 and also with undisclosed barbiturates in her system. Angela is being held on $500,000 bail and faces ten (10) years to life in prison for recklessly killing her daughter.
Memo to the Folks: When it comes to the subject of drinking and driving, taking either Rx meds or controlled substances and driving or mixing booze and drugs and then driving, the best advice that you are ever going to hear is: "Don't do it! Get a DD (Designated Driver), not a DUI". Please, pretty please, be smart{er than Angela Russell}: Don't drink and drive, and don't mix booze and pills and drive, and don;t involve your kids in your poor decision-making, but, if you do, just say "NO{thing}", don't blow (in FL your 2nd subsequent refusal is a crime) and call me stat at 305-381-8686, 305-798-2220, or 1-888-SHARK-8-1.
