What are the consequences of stealing Pokemon from Walgreens? ~ "Best Answer" on AVVO ~ Call Michael A. Haber, Esq. @ 1-888-SHARK-8-1

Q:     A friend of mine was caught stealing Pokemon cards at Walgreen's. The manager told him to get out of the store and that if he did he wasn't going to call the police.  Can he get persecuted and what other consequences can he face?

Answered He can get prosecuted, but only if the cops are called.

The overwhelming odds are that if he was not detained, and his identification was not established, and if the cops were not called, then he most likely will not ever be prosecuted..... BUT (caps intentional) what he did is completely uncool and unlawful and if he continues to steal then ultimately he will get caught and arrested and prosecuted.

If you want to be a good friend then I suggest that you talk to your pal and discourage that behavior. If he either brags about it or persists in stealing things then I am certain that he is not the sort of friend that you want to be hanging around with and I urge you to dump him like like yesterday's garbage. (In the real world you can, and will, be judged by the company that you choose to keep... and what's worse is that the company that you choose to keep can and will get you arrested and prosecuted.... forewarned is forearmed). Please be smarter than your alleged friend and do not do what he did.

I hope that I have been helpful in answering your question.
