FL Man Faces Aggravated Domestic Battery Charges for Shoving and Urinating on his 5-months-Pregnant Girlfriend ~ Call Michael A. Haber, Esq. @ 1-888-SHARK-8-1

Meet 26 y/o Christian Betts of St. Pete, FL.  That's his mug shot below...

At about 8:30 am on Tuesday, July 14th, 2015 Christian, who stands 6'8" and who weighs in at about 400 lbs. did something not so, er, Christian, just before he was arrested and charged with aggravated domestic battery for acts against his 5-month-pregnant girlfriend.

No he did not kick her down a staircase but, per the narrative portion of his Arrest Affidavit (pictured below):

Per the A-Form:  "The victim and the defendant live together and the victim is 5 months pregnant with the defendant's child.   They argued this morning during which time the defendant aimed his penis at her and urinated on her.  He then shoved her, gathered some things and left the apt."

Memo to Christian:  You may be a big boy but apparently your brain failed to develop in proportion to your body.   Did no one ever warn you about pregnancy hormones?

Pregnant women are like uranium 235.  They must be handled very gently, smartly and coddled, not shoved and pissed on.  Let me suggest some reading materials for you...

Memo to the Folks:  Florida Statute 784.045 (which you can read here) makes Aggravated Battery on a Pregnant Victim a 2nd degree felony punishable by a minimum of twenty-one (21) months and up to fifteen (15) years in state prison.  This crime was delineated as a specialty offense on the theory that pregnant women are especially vulnerable to abuse, and most particularly in a domestic environment.  The crime does not require much (only a pregnant victim, a defendant who knows of the pregnancy and an unwanted touching, even one which causes no harm) and, sadly, can be wielded by a disgruntled hormonal woman who's prepared to lie so as to gain a tactical advantage in a divorce or custody battle or for any other nefarious reason (or of course it could be completely legitimate).
