Air Traffic Controller is Arrested for Public Intoxication after being Found Unconscious in the Control Tower ~ Call Michael A. Haber, Esq. @ 1-888-SHARK-8-1

Meet 50 y/o Philip Maschek, an Arkansas air traffic controller.  That's his mug shot below...

'Ole Phil here works in the air traffic control tower at the Springdale Municipal Airport in north-west Arkansas was observed by a coworker to have been "passed out in his chair with his shirt off".  He was later described by responding police officers as being "intoxicated and half naked on the job".

It should go without saying that air traffic controllers, even in "smaller" airports, have responsibility for the safety of airplanes (and therefore also for their crews and passengers) which are taking off land landing in the airport, so Philip's on-the-job-intoxication is a serious matter indeed.

Per responding police, Philip was wearing a black robe and house shoes, failed field sobriety tests and was slurring his speech and swaying on his feet.  He reportedly was not immediately handcuffed as the police feared that he was too intoxicated to climb down a steep ladder.  Philip denied being intoxicated and when he was told that he was being arrested for public intoxication Philip reportedly took issue with use of the word "public".  Memo to Philip:  If it weren't such a serious matter then it'd be / you'd be laughable, as your situation reminds me of the plight of Steve McCrosky (a/k/a Lloyd Bridges)... the infamous parody air traffic controller who "picked the wrong day to quit sniffing glue" (see "Airplane", 1980)...

Memo to Philip continued:
