Meet 25 y/o Amber Anthony, 25, of Clifton Heights. That's her mug shot below...
Amber won't be winning any "Mother of the Year" awards for her performance at about 10:30 am on Monday, July 20th, 2015 when she apparently, and repeatedly, dozed off behind the wheel causing her car to slam into the back of the car in front of her several times in a Collingdale, PA Dunkin’ Donuts drive-thru.
Compounding whatever problems / issues Amber may have had at the time is the fact that when she was arrested for driving under the influence, reckless driving, careless driving, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia she had her 2 y/o toddler son in the vehicle, which tacked on an additional count for reckless endangerment an minor. Per Collingdale, PA police they had gotten a call from a motorist who reported that a woman driving a white car behind him at the drive-thru of the Collingdale Dunkin’ Donuts kept falling asleep behind the wheel and bumping his vehicle. Responding officers ordered a visibly drowsy driver to pull over and exit the vehicle and when Amber stepped out of her car, police reported that said she appeared disoriented and confused, was unsteady on her feet and that her speech was slurred. In addition her toddler son was found crying in the backseat. A search of the vehicle incident to Amber's arrest revealed a glass vial containing Xanax, a small amount of marijuana and a glass pipe.
As Amber was being transported to Taylor Hospital to have her blood drawn, police reported she kept nodding off in the squad car. Memo to the Folks: In many cases - the bulk of them in fact - we are forced to rely upon the word of the cops. Here, a judge or jury would be required to accept law enforcement's sworn proffer that Amber was "visibly drowsy", "appeared disoriented and confused", was "unsteady on her feet" and that her "speech was slurred", but PA's Local ABC Station Channel 6 was in the right place at the right time (for the cops anyhow even if not so much for Amber) as their cameras captured the moment that Amber was being led in handcuffs into the Collingdale Police Department (you can see the video here wherein Amber appears "bedraggled" and visibly struggles to keep her eyes open) - below are some stills from the news footage.

When it comes to the subject of drinking OR DRUGS and driving, the best advice that you are ever going to hear is: "Don't do it! Get a DD (Designated Driver), not a DUI".
Be smart{er than Amber Anthony}: Don't drink OR DO DOPE and drive, but, if you do, just say "NO{thing}", don't blow (in FL your 2nd subsequent refusal is a crime) and call me stat at 305-381-8686, 305-798-2220 or 1-888-SHARK-8-1.
