GA Motorist Hands a Cop a "Thank You {for giving me a Speeding Ticket}" Note after Receiving a Speeding Ticket ~ Call Michael A. Haber, Esq. @ 1-888-SHARK-8-1

When it comes to police-citizen encounters I always advise folks to keep their mouths shut.  It is almost universally true that there is precious little that you can say to help yourself but simultaneously there are a myriad of ways for you to effectively incriminate yourself.   That said:  Memo to the unnamed "Caring Alpharetta resident" (and also to the Folks):  Writing / penning / scribing... well that's potentially worse...

So on Friday, September 4th, 2015 am Alpharetta, GA conducted a speeding stop on an unnamed female Alpharetta resident.

The officer issued her a traffic citation for speeding, which she signed (** note that signing a traffic ticket gets the "defense lawyer seal of approval" as doing so is NOT an admission of guilt, rather it is a mere acknowledgment of receipt - kinda like, well, exactly like, signing for receiving a package from FedEx **) and then the officer began to walk away, back to his squad car.

At this point the woman pulled close to the officer, handed him a note and then drove off without another word.  The note stated:  "Mr. Officer, Shame on me for speeding. There is a lot of publicity (negative) about police officers and your job is very dangerous.  I want you to know that my family and I feel very blessed to be protected by wonderful people like you. So thank you!" The note was signed "Caring Alpharetta resident".

Per the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety the woman had already told the officer "thank you" after signing the traffic citation, and they posted the "Thank you {for giving me a speeding ticket" note on their Facebook page (which you can see here)
