Meet former Sheffield Village, Ohio attorney Michael Fine, pictured below, who has taken the practice of law to an all time low by allegedly hypnotizing female clients for his sexual pleasure.
Police in the northeast Ohio community began investigating Fine last fall after two (2) women came forth telling investigators they believed they had been hypnotized after losing track of time and being unable to recall meetings and phone calls with him. An investigation commenced and while police say that they recorded Fine using explicit language while talking to the women no criminal charges have yet been filed and the case remains under review by county prosecutors.
In the meantime the two (2) women who came forth have reportedly filed civil lawsuits against Fine, one claiming that he told her "I want you to look into my eyes. You are going to feel such attraction and arousal and excitement that you are going to demand that I touch you and you touch me. Do you understand?". This prompted her to return to Fine's office for another encounter, except this time she was wearing a wire and a camera and reportedly working with police. In the second encounter Fine reportedly hypnotized the former client before he "held her hand and began a graphic sexual discussion with her while positioning himself next to her and rubbed her right shoulder while she sat on the couch."
While the authorities decide whether or not to charge him with a crime(s) Fine has, effective Tuesday, August 18th, 2015, agreed to permanently surrender his law license and he will never practice law again. Memo to the Folks: A) Apparently I missed the "How to Hypnotize Your Clients" block in law school; B) This guy reminds me of the old joke about the difference between a lawyer and a hooker (the hooker stops screwing you when you are dead); and C) Doesn't he kinda look like Dr. Phil?
