FL Mother Arrested for Child Neglect after Leaving her 2 y/o Twins alone in her Home while she went to a Margarita Festival ~ Call Michael A. Haber, Esq. @ 1-888-SHARK-8-1

Meet 29 y/o Kiria Ferris.  That's her mug shot below...

On Sunday, August 16th, 2015 Kiria was arrested and charged with child neglect after her neighbors, Rita Charles and Carlin Rogers, saw her two (2) y/o twin sons playing unsupervised near a lake adjacent to their Orlando, Florida home.  According to the neighbors one (1) of the toddler twin boys was about to walk into the lake when he and his brother were found outside.  The neighbors recognized the children, went to check if their mother was home, discovered no one was at there and then called the police.

Per police all three (3) interior bedroom doors were locked but the home's front door was wide open and there was a giant piece of plywood and some bicycles blocking the front entrance.  Cops found a soiled diaper outside of a bathroom, a pile of toys and a bottle of toxic toilet bowl cleaner inside of the bathroom, and a bookshelf was also found lying in the middle of the family room.  When the cops contacted Kiria she first told police that she was on her way back from work but when she arrived home at about 10:00 pm in a light blue evening dress and donning a "red wrist band" she admitted that she had been partying at a local margarita festival.

Kiria said that she tried to get the children's father to babysit but that he was unavailable so she decided to block the front door with plywood so that the kids couldn't get out.  Naturally the police arrested Kiris for two (2) counts of child neglect, citing the dangers of leaving the children alone, the choking hazards, and toxic cleaning chemicals around her home.  Memo to Kiria:   Personally I don't have a problem with you attending a Margarita (or any other) Festival provided a)  you're not driving, b) you have an adult babysitter and c) the "choking hazards, and toxic cleaning chemicals" are responsibly stowed such that your toddlers can't get at them.   You are very lucky that your kid(s) didn't drown in the lake or get their paws on potentially deadly substances in your home.

Memo to Kiria continued:  Congratulations on your Parenting FAIL!  With skills like yours you are a show in for a cover story in...
