Idaho is Forced to Replace Mile Marker 420 with 419.9 to Thwart Repeat Stoner Thieves who Steal it when it's Replaced ~ Call Michael A. Haber, Esq. @ 1-888-SHARK-8-1

Most highways in the country don't cover more than 400 miles.

And if you're looking for mile marker 420 in Idaho, a State with strict anti-marijuana laws despite being nearly surrounded by other States with relaxed pot regulations, well you won't find mile marker 420 anywhere in Idaho.  Why?  Well, because it keeps getting stolen.  And it turns out that Idaho isn't alone in this problem. States like Washington and Colorado have also had their mile marker 420 signs stolen, presumably by sticky-fingered stoners.

Adam Rush of the Idaho Transportation Department says that officials have replaced the old sign along US Highway 95 with 'MILE 419.9,' just south of Coeur d'Alene to curb thieves eager to own a number associated with marijuana enthusiasts.

Oregon has been spared the spike in sign thefts due to having no highways long enough to reach past a 400 milepost, even though it recently legalized marijuana. Per Mr. Rush:  "Having a sign removed from a highway is pretty rare.  In Idaho, people will shoot at them or write on them before stealing them completely.  We spend more time mending signs than replacing them."  Mr. Rush further said that the department didn't want to leave the milepost empty because the signs can be valuable for drivers tracking their journey.  Per Washington State Spokesperson Barbara LaBoe her State has not fared quite as well as Oregon, having two (2) highways which are long enough to have 420 mileposts which have both been plagued by thieves snatching the signs over the years.  For those of you who haven't figured it out yet the number 420 has long been associated with marijuana.  (And no pun was intended by the use of the word "highway".)

When it comes to the subject of drinking OR USING and driving, the best advice that you are ever going to hear is:  "Don't do it!  Get a DD (Designated Driver), not a DUI".

Be smart: Don't drink OR USE and drive, but, if you do, just say "NO{thing}", don't blow (in FL your 2nd subsequent refusal is a crime) and call me stat at 305-381-8686, 305-798-2220 or 1-888-SHARK-8-1.
