Meet 33 y/o Ericka Suber of Louisville, KY. That's her most recent mug shot below....
Ericka was arrested on Wednesday, June 3rd, 2015 after she was caught drunk driving on a moped which was carrying a passenger who was also holding a third-passenger who just so happened to be a two (2) y/o toddler. Per the Louisville Police Ericka was observed driving a moped with a female passenger who was herself (the passenger) holding a two (2) y/o girl on her lap. As Ericka attempted to make a turn onto another street police claim that she nearly hit a curb and that the child slipped, almost falling from the moped vehicle. Cops claim that Ericka had red, glossy eyes, an odor of alcohol emanating from her person and that she was extremely belligerent when they stopped her. After failing FST's (field sobriety tests) authorities actually found an open container of alcohol in the moped, and now Ericka faces charges of wanton endangerment, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and possession of an open alcohol beverage container in a motor vehicle. To most of us (rational folks that is) this is bad, but it could have been worse...
Meantime, Ericka apparently has herself some other issues. In July 2014, she ran through the Louisville Hall of Justice with a knife, jumping over a security rope before running into a glass door, which she cracked, and had to be tazed by Courthouse security to be taken into custody (you can see the video of that incident here...) and her July, 2014 mug shot is below.
Memo to Ericka: Apart from taking weapons into Courthouses (or schools or airports or other weapon-free zones), playing Jed Clampett (e.g. loading up the moped, sucking down some moonshine and packing away a little "something something" for later before heading off to Beverly... Hills that is...) on a moped with both a passenger and a toddler, and mixing in booze to boot, is beyond foolish... it's just plain reckless. If I were you, driving or not, I'd stay away from the "Texas Tea" (and, just in case you were wondering, in your case "Texas Tea" does not refer to oil) and concentrate on staying out of jail. You've got some decision making issues to attend to, a "moral compass" to align, or you can count on your Judge doing that for you. When it comes to the subject of drinking and driving, the best advice that you are ever going to hear is: "Don't do it! Get a DD (Designated Driver), not a DUI".
