Meet 50 y/o Jim Cooley of Atlanta, GA. That's him below... carrying his loaded AR-15 semi-automatic rifle through the busiest airport in the world, Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. Kinda like, scratch that... actually, "just like" a flag burner, it seems to me that Jim is just another one of those ass clowns that feels that it's important that he flaunt his rights.
Apparently Georgia law permits folks to possess and carry firearms in public, even in an airport in areas which are not controlled by the TSA. So what did Jim do? Well, on May 28th, 2015 when his wife took their daughter to the airport for a flight, naturally, Jim brought along his AR-15, equipped with a 100-round drum and strapped over his shoulder, and paraded through unsecured areas of the airport causing quite the stir.
So after he was approached three (3) times by curious cops both inside and outside of the airport Jim claimed that he was being harassed and filed a formal complaint with the police oversight committee. Says Jim: "I always carry a firearm for safety, and even though it’s a right that we can carry I don’t use the excuse that it’s my right. I carry for safety because you never know what can happen when you’re out." On the other hand and per police: "An officer first approached Mr Cooley based on concerns from people inside the airport, and the possibility that it was an automatic weapon... Multiple patrons showed concern on their faces as they observed the assault rifle weapon openly carried across the chest." In regard to the complaint that Jim filed with the Atlanta Citizen Review Board, Jim said: "The nature of my complaint was basically that I felt I was being harassed by them, especially being followed into the parking lot. I want them to be reprimanded and I want them to get the point that these are our rights, this is airport policy. If people are concerned you need to start educating the public and not bothering the person with the firearm, that should be common sense." Memo to Jim:
Continued memo to Jim: Just because you have a right to do something does not mean that you should do it. Regardless of the legality, and not withstanding your claim of carrying it for self-defense, walking around the airport with a loaded AR-15 with a 100 round drum of ammo strapped over your shoulder is simply ludicrous, If you are worried about your or your family's safety then pack a .45 (hell, pack a couple of them) like a "normal" person and don't cause a panic with your AR-15. To my mind you are every bit as douche-baggerous as those flag-burning ass-clowns. So, let me spell it out for you with plain imagery.... The cops were doing their job. In filing a complaint against them, for this, you, on the other hand, are the unequivocal...
further you are no different than this guy... flaunting his "right" to burn our flag...
therefore rendering you both....

(yes, that is an ass-clown... albeit it is a much sexier, and saner, one than you....)
