Ohio Man is Jailed after he intentionally Adopted a Dog to have Euthanized in place of his own Dog which had been Condemned after a Vicious Attack ~ Call Michael A. Haber, Esq. @ 1-888-SHARK-8-1

Meet 32 year old Jason Dotson of Ohio.  That's him below...

This douche bag earned himself a month in jail after being caught adopting a dog in an attempt to pass it off as his own in order to get around a court order that required him to surrender his dog to be euthanized.

Dotson's dog, a pit bull mix who is pictured below, had been deemed to be "vicious and dangerous" and was ordered by an Ohio Judge to be put to sleep.

The Court Order came after Dotson's dog had attacked a smaller therapy dog (also pictured below) who was being walked by its owner, who has Parkinson's disease, and was on a leash when the attack happened.  After the attack the therapy dog was reportedly "so traumatized and badly injured that it won't be able to work again as a therapy dog".

Meantime, Dotson apparently decided that he could fool the judge and get around the Court Order and so he concocted a plot to adopt a second dog that looked similar to his own.  On the day of execution, Dotson's plan was to sacrifice the newly adopted pooch instead of his own beloved pet.  So, two (2) days before his pit bull mix was due to be euthanized, Dotson went to the local Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and adopted "Baby", a black and white dog who looked similar to his own and, on the date of his dog's euthanization, a dumb Dotson brought the newly adopted dog to the same facility that he adopted it from just a few days before.  His effort at passing the newly adopted dog off as his own failed when staff at the SPCA recognized the dog as "Baby", the one that had previously been living at the shelter until just days before (the implanted microchip was a dead give away).

And so Dotson was hauled before his judge who was none to happy.  (Yes, that is Dotson's Judge, Judge Brad Greenberg, who described Dotson's plot as "'cruel".)

Said Judge Greenberg:  "In my 10 years as a judge I can't recall a more cold and heartless act.  It's one thing for you to ignore a court order, it's quite another thing to try to perpetrate a fraud on this court.  And you tried to have an innocent dog killed. If I could give you more time, legally, I would."

In the end Dotson is in jail, his "vicious" dog was put down as per the original Court Order and the new dog, Baby, was sent back to the shelter to await a loving adoptive family.
