Meet Richard Schubach., a New Jersey attorney who was found in his car, parked outside of his Raritan, New Jersey law office, shortly after 7.30am on Tuesday, February 2nd, 2016, dead from an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound.
After accusations of having propositioned several of his female clients for sexual favors Dick had been arrested on Friday, January 29th, 2016 following a sting operation conducted by the Sommerset County Prosecutor's Office wherein he allegedly fondled and suckled the breast and lifted the skirt of an undercover agent.
Per reports, on Thursday, January 28, 2016, after Dick had been formally accused by several female clients of "offering to represent them at a discount in exchange for sexual favors" the Sommerset County Prosecutor's Office sent a female undercover agent in to gather evidence at Dick's office.

Per reports, on Thursday, January 28, 2016, after Dick had been formally accused by several female clients of "offering to represent them at a discount in exchange for sexual favors" the Sommerset County Prosecutor's Office sent a female undercover agent in to gather evidence at Dick's office.
At the end of their first meeting Dick allegedly asked the agent, who he believed was a prospective client, to return the next day and to "wear something pretty." When the undercover agent returned the following day Dick allegedly fondled her breast and inner thigh. When the U/C agent said "I don't like this" Dick is accused of uncovering one of her breasts and placed his mouth on it. He was also accused of asking the u/c agent to face him and then lifting up her skirt.
Dick was arrested in his office then and there and was released shortly thereafter, posting a $2,500.00 bond. Prior to the recent allegations of sexual crimes Dick had reportedly been disciplined by the New Jersey State Supreme Court three (3) times and he had received two (2) separate ninety (90) day suspensions from the practice of law (in 1992 and 2004 Dick was disciplined for violations including misstating his income on mortgage applications and gross neglect and in 1997 he was reprimanded but none of those issues related to sexual actions).
Memo to the Folks: Dick was caught in a “Sting Operation” ("Sting Op"). A Sting Op is a term that law enforcement uses when they embrace any of a variety of deceptive tactics to catch people who are predisposed to committing crimes. Sometimes the cops do it themselves by sending in “undercover” officers or agents and other times they employ CI’s (confidential informants) or CS’s (cooperating sources).
Memo to the Folks continued: There are many sorts of sting ops. A few examples are where undercover cops either pose themselves or they send a CI or a CS in who represents themselves to be: Someone who is seeking illegal drugs, contraband or child pornography to catch a supplier; a supplier to catch a customer (where the cops are the suppliers it is called a “reverse sting”), a potential customer of illegal prostitution; a prostitute to catch a customer (again a “reverse sting”), a child in a chat room to identify a potential child molester, a hitman to catch customers and solicitors of murder-for-hire, someone who offers to pass off fake or real explosives to a would-be terror bomber, deploying a bait car (or a “honey trap”) to catch car thieves, arranging someone under the legal drinking age to ask an adult to buy an alcoholic beverage or tobacco products for them... and the list goes on...
Memo to the Folks continued: Most folks caught in a sting think they were entrapped but very few actually were victims of anything but their own predisposition. The fact is that cops are permitted to use methods of persuasion, trickery or subterfuge in an effort to get you to commit a crime. The question that determines whether or not you were entrapped is: Would you have done what you did anyhow?

Memo to the Folks continued: It seems to me that in this case Dick was a troubled man who fell victim to an inability to control his own perverted thoughts. Not that I wish, want or am happy that he's dead, but there is no room in the legal profession for bad lawyers (like "bad cops", each one makes them - us - all look "bad"). Still, I can't help myself from wondering what the female undercover agent from the Sommerset County Prosecutor's Office looked like, knowing that there are a lot of really good looking law enforcement officers out there...
