AZ Mom Arrested for Aggravated DUI in Jack-in-the-Box Drive Thru... in Police Vehicle ~ Call Michael A. Haber, Esq. @ 1-888-SHARK-8-1

Back in November, 2014 41 y/o Elizabeth Jean Moore did something which was really stupid.  And although she wasn't arrested until Thursday, May 21st, 2015, judging from her mug shot below she knew just how galactically stupid it was back then too...

Back in November, 2014 Liz, the mother of a twelve (12) y/o girl, along with her friend, who also is mother to a twelve (12) y/o girl, took her friend's husband's Maricopa, AZ unmarked police pick-up for a drunken joyride for some late night eats.  Why Liz was driving instead of the Deputy's wife is unknown, but what is known is that the two (2) mothers were up front (Liz driving with the other mom in the passenger seat) and that their respective daughters were in the back seat.  What is also known is that Liz had a BAC of .11 at the time that she caught the attention of a passing patrol car by tapping the police vehicle's siren while driving in the Chandler, AZ Jack-in-the-Box drive thru (pictured below).

According to Maricopa Deputies, while Liz was in the drive-thru she turned on the police vehicle's sirens to show off to employees.  Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending upon your perspective) a uniform patrol car happened to be driving near by, officers heard the siren and came to see what was happening.  As soon as they saw Liz behind the wheel they stopped her.  Suspicions that Liz was intoxicated proved correct as her blood-alcohol level was found to be .11 (AZ, like FL and most states, has a legal threshold of .08).  Why it took more than a half a year to charge her with two (2) counts of aggravated DUI (one (1) for each of the children in the vehicle) was not disclosed. Liz's friend's husband, the officer who was responsible for the MCSO pick-up, was not punished.  Liz (and presumably her friend) told investigators that the man did not know that she and his wife had taken the car.

Jack-in-the-Box.... Per Google, with 2,200 locations in 19 States we don't have them in SoFlo.  Per Jack-in-the-Box's Store Locator the closest one to Miami is 616.18 miles away in Anderson, SC.  Still, every time I hear the name "Jack-in-the-Box" I think of this little ditty....

When it comes to the subject of drinking and driving, the best advice that you are ever going to hear is:  "Don't do it!  Get a DD (Designated Driver), not a DUI".

Be smart{er than Elizabeth Jean Moore}: Don't drink and drive, but, if you do, just say "NO{thing}", don't blow (in FL your 2nd subsequent refusal is a crime) and call me stat at 305-381-8686, 305-798-2220 or 1-888-SHARK-8-1.
