NOLA Couple Steal Rx Meds from Nursing Home to Fund Vegas Trip ~ Call Michael A. Haber, Esq. @ 1-888-SHARK-8-1

Meet NOLA's own 46 y/o Bonnie Pritchard and her boy-toy, 36 y/o Patrick Lampard, that's their mug shots below...

Per the Slidell, NO Police Department's Facebook page (which you can see here), in the early morning hours of Friday, May 22nd, 2015 police were dispatched to the duo's home "in reference to a medical call.  Police stood by while medical personnel treated the patient, but discovered something out of the ordinary in the process. Completely unrelated to the medical call, first responders discovered prescription medications, for patients at Heritage [Manor] Nursing Home strewn all over the residence."  It was later determined that Patrick had worked at the Heritage Manor Nursing Home as the "director of nursing".

The PD's narrative continues stating that "Police located hundreds of prescription pills packaged in individual baggies as if someone was preparing to sell them. Narcotics detectives were summoned to the scene in order to speak with the residents of the home."  This was when the Popo determined that Bonnie worked at Abney Elementary School as a teacher.

The PD's Facebook narrative continues:  "While interrogating Lampard and Pritchard both admitted to being part of a scheme to steal prescriptions medications from Heritage Manor Nursing Home.  The duo would then sell the drugs to a drug dealer in order to make money to pay off outstanding debt and for a trip to Las Vegas.

Slidell, NO Police Chief Randy Smith further opined that: "Both of these individuals were in positions that require honesty and integrity.  They violated the public's trust and will now have to face the consequences of their actions."  If there is one then the silver lining is that further investigation revealed that neither Heritage Manor patients nor Abney Elementary students (or staff) were effected by the respective employee's actions.  Sadly, that may be the best thing that their lawyer has to argue in their defense.

Memo to the Folks:  Not all cases are defensible.  Some are, simply put, "dogs with fleas".  In this case a 911 call put the cops on scene and in the house without a warrant lawfully.  If they then came across items of contraband in plain view, well then that's that.   Bonnie and Patrick were not smart criminals.  They should not feel bad about this as most are not smart... very few actually get away with a continuous criminal scheme.  It's too bad the stupidity is not a legal defense because if it were these two jokers would be acquitted in a nano-second.  "Dope Dealing 101" has two (2) rules:  A) Don;t get high on your own supply (see Scarface) and B) It's called a "stash" for a reason.... "stash it, and stash it well".  If the "hundreds of prescription pills packaged in individual baggies as if someone was preparing to sell them" had been "stashed" then medical attention would have been given without the cops having seen the "properly stashed stash".
