Man is Arrested after "Liking" his own "Wanted" Pic on Crime Stopper's Facebook Page ~ Call Michael A. Haber, Esq. @ 1-888-SHARK-8-1

Meet Montana's own 23 y/o Charles Reardon... That's his mug shot below...

Apparently Chuck did not pay enough attention to Greek mythology in high school.

That up there, the dude in the red tunic, that is Narcissus.  Legend has it that he was a handsome young Greek who didn't want any part of Echo, the "nymph" to his left.  Per Greek mythology she, Echo, tenaciously came on with the come on yet Narcissus, consistently, rejected her advances.   The more that Echo pursued Narcissus the more that Narcissus stared at his own reflection in the water, leading him ultimately to fall in love with his own image, drown, and, millennium later, culminating in the mental health condition known as "Narcissistic Personality Disorder" (which you can read more about here).

Anyhow, jumping ahead a few thousand years, in January, 2015 Chuckie became the prime suspect in a theft case involving a wallet and a stolen check book, several of which were made payable to Chuckie and at least one of which (a check) Chuckie had cashed at a grocery store. When cops couldn't locate him they put out an APB, among other places on the local Crime Stoppers Facebook Page (found here).  One of Chuckie's buddies saw the post and tagged his friend (Chuckie), who then himself "Liked" the wanted post.

In all fairness to Chuckie, he was NOT nailed because of his "like" (i.e. the cops did not triangulate his location or otherwise use technology to nab him); rather he was ratted out by a "concerned citizen".  Still, the "Like" likely won't play very well in Court for Chuckie, and this story does highlight the role the Social Media is playing in today's criminal justice system. Memo to Chuckie:  You are not the center of the universe. Don't steal stuff, but, if you do, don't link your name and identification to it, leaving a clear trail back to you, and if you do that then surrender, quietly, without incident, pomp or circumstance.

When it comes to the subject of "Cops, Courts and Constitutions" you should always have a skilled and experienced criminal defense attorney who is focused on serving your interests.  While we can't stop the cops from arresting you, as your legal counsel Michael A. Haber, PA will ensure that your rights are respected from the moment that representation begins and that any abuses which may have occurred beforehand are remedied.

At Michael A. Haber, P.A. "Its all about reasonable doubt"!
