Man tries to Carjack Deputy Sheriff, gets Tasered 2x then Attacks Backup Officers ~ Call Michael A. Haber, Esq. @ **ARRESTED

Meet 23 y/o Zane Thomas Gavin of Palm Harbor, Florida.  Yup, that's his mug (shot) below...

At 4:30 am on Saturday, January 31st, 2015, a patrolling Deputy Sheriff observed Zaney Gavin suddenly run across a four (4) lane roadway which has a wide direction separating median (pictured below) and then get struck and knocked down by a passing SUV.

The Deputy stopped to render aid, called for back-up and, for his efforts, got punched in the head. The unsuspecting Deputy was floored, literally, the blow knocking him to the ground and breaking his glasses.  Zaney Gavin took the opportunity to continue to beat on the Deputy for a bit and then entered the idling squad car, revving the engine and perhaps efforting at driving off.  (Its seems that someone plays a little too much.....)

In the interim, the female driver of the SUV which had inadvertently struck Zaney Gavin returned to the scene.  Having witnessed much of Zaney's violent actions against law enforcement, 59 y/o Sharon Scroggins stated: "We [had] just turned not too far down the road and this bug huge guy with no shirt on, literally just his hands up and like he was diving, he went right in front of my car." Sharon promptly stopped, returned to the scene and saw that "That gentleman was coming toward him [the Deputy] and I remember the officer went down". Sharon efforted at assisting the Deputy in securing Zaney and wound up injured herself for her good deeds.  So the Deputy tases Zaney, who is in his patrol vehicle, with no effect - meaning that the 50,000 volts are insufficient to stop the big man from putting up a fight - but it did get Zaney out of the car, on foot, attempting to make tracks outta there and tased for a second time.  The second zap didn't take Zaney down immediately; he was able to make it to the median before he collapsed in the roadway.

By the time that back-up officer's had arrived Zaney had regained some of his energy, tapping into the reserves sufficient enough to brawl with them as well.  When all was said and done the initial deputy suffered a broken tail bone and facial damage (the extent of which is unknown) and Sharon was hospitalized with a non-life threatening head injury.  Zaney fared well, although he faces two (2) counts of aggravated battery, resisting arrest with violence and attempted carjacking.

Memo to Zaney:  No mare GTA for you... That and stay off the...
