OR Mother Walks away from her Wrecked Car, Leaves her 4 Week Old Baby & Doberman Inside, walks to a Convenience Store, buys Booze & Reports her Car Stolen ~ Call Michael A. Haber, Esq. @ 1-888-SHARK-8-1

Meet Terra Brandenburg, a 31 year old mother from Oregon.  That's her below (being led away in handcuffs by the PoPo)...

Terra was arrested for a plethora of charged including DUI, initiating a false police report, disorderly conduct, reckless endangerment, criminal mistreatment, reckless driving and child neglect, earning her a shot at next month's cover photo on...

Terra slammed her BMW X-3 SUV into a bridge in West Linn, Oregon.  In and of itself this would not be a big deal but she left her child (reportedly a four (4) week old baby) and her Doberman Pinscher inside of the wrecked vehicle while she got out and walked to a 76 gas station where she reportedly purchased a box of chardonnay, well that ups the ante.  Terra also, per Kasey Stone (pictured below), who was working at the 76 station at the time, just ten (10) seconds after she had exited the store walked back in and started shouting that she couldn't remember where she had left her car (even thought it was just across the street) and insisted that her baby was missing (reportedly "frantically" asking where the child was and prompting a call to the police).   Finally, when the cops arrived and were preparing to issue an Amber Alert for her baby Terra ran away (she was tracked down in short order and taken into custody) and ultimately she provided a breath sample which showed a BAC of .25 (3x the legal limit).  Yup, that's "Sh*t Parenting" at it's finest (er, worst).  To wrap it up on a happier not, West Linn Police Officers recovered both the baby (who has since been placed in her father's care) and the dog (which was reportedly "angry" when cops arrived).

Memo to the Folks:  I have no idea what penalties Terra faces in OR but were she so charged here in sunny FL then she'd face 364 days on the DUI, another 364 on the Disorderly Conduct, 5 years on the Reckless Endangerment of a Child (assuming no great bodily harm), 90 days on the Reckless Driving, and another 5 years on the Child Neglect (although, in fairness, in FL I don't think that she would either be properly charged, convicted or punished for both Reckless Endangerment and Child Neglect as they stemmed from the same incident), not to fail to mention the potential for DCF involvement, institution of a dependency proceedings and likely ensuing restrictions upon (or possible loss) of her parental rights.  (Incidentally, in FL she likely would have also been charged with leaving the scene of an accident, another potential 5 year sentence.)  Regardless of the State that Terra (or anyone) was in it's plain to me that either Uber or Lyft would have been a much better choice....

When it comes to the subject of drinking and driving, the best advice that you are ever going to hear is:  "Don't do it!  Get a DD (Designated Driver), not a DUI".

Be smart{er than Terra Brandenburg}: Don't drink and drive, but, if you do, just say "NO{thing}", don't blow (in FL your 2nd subsequent refusal is a crime) and call me stat at 305-381-8686, 305-798-2220 or 1-888-SHARK-8-1.
