Tony Harris, a Philadelphia, PA father of three (3), was shot dead in his home a week after posting a picture on Facebook of his fiance, Amber Crane, posing next to what appeared to be four (4) stacks of cash totaling $60,000.00.
The kicker: It wasn't $60,000.00 in cash; rather it was four (4) piles of $1.00 bills with $20's on top. According to Tony's nephew Anthony Fleming the picture was posted by Tony, an electronics repairman, as a joke and just to make the piles seem far more valuable than they actually were. Well, it was a bad joke, and it turned tragic...
A week after the poorly thought-out Facebook post (the caption of which claimed that Tony had "misplaced" $60,000.00 and hoped that his wife didn't spend it out shopping), at about 11:30 pm on Monday, October 12th, 2015, three (3) masked, armed (presumably) teenage intruders burst into Tony's home demanding to know: "Where's the money?"

Two (2) of the masked intruders reportedly confronted Tony, who had been in his the living room with his two (2) youngest children (aged ten (10) months and two (2) years) while the third held a gun to his fiance's head as they demanded to know "where's the money." When Amber said that there was no cash and insisted that the family was "poor" one (1) of the men immediately shot Tony in the head. Per police the confrontation only took a matter of minutes. Tony was rushed to the nearby Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in a critical condition and he passed away in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
Tony's nephew Anthony Fleming believes the men must have seen what appeared to be $60,000.00 in cash and thought that his uncle would make an easy target. Said the nephew: "He was a really genuine guy. He really wanted the best for his family. And those young kids killed him. They had no remorse, and they killed him." Tony is survived by his fiance and their three (3) kids, the oldest of which is a five (5) year old daughter who's birthday they happened to be celebrating at the time of the deadly home invasion robbery. Police are now hunting for the three (3) sociopathic masked intruders, who are believed to be aged between 17 and 19 years old.
Memo to the Folks: Add this to the ever-growing list of how social media can get you into trouble. "Haber's Rules of Social Media # 1 - 5" (which you can read by clicking here) contemplates a variety of scenarios (such as bragging about warrants online and being picked up, posting drinking pictures before a DUI, "advertising" a vacation resulting in a burglary, etc...) but this is both a new, and a tragic, twist. Please learn from Tony Harris' mistake: If you post pics of cash and jewelry and things of value then you may make yourself a target. Don't be a target. And...
