Social Media FAIL! Dallas Cowboys Dez Bryant is called out by PETA after he shared an Instagram Pic of him with a newborn "Capuchin" monkey ~ Call Michael A. Haber, Esq. @ 1-888-SHARK-8-1

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant:  Many love him many hate him.

Regardless, right now Dez is caught square in the cross-hairs of PETA...

Why?  Because Dez posting a photo of a baby monkey on Instagram.

PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) representatives reported Dez to animal control authorities in DeSoto, Texas to look into potential illegal possession of a baby "Capuchin" after he shared a snap of the adorable primate named "Dallas". The PETA folks don't care that Dez is cradling his self-described "new best friend", rather they have reportedly stated that "the animal needs a mother figure and special treatment that Pro Bowler cannot give".  PETA said in a prepared statement that baby monkey was torn away from its mother and that the animals "belong in the wild -- not in the hands of football players who acquire exotic animals just to make a splash on Instagram".  The organization said that authorities should "please seize the monkey" from Bryant, who they allege is not eligible for the permits necessary to have a monkey in DeSoto, which require a specific use for the animal.  PETA also reportedly said that the monkey's situation could "lead to boredom and depression".

It is not known whether Bryant actually bought the monkey but local police said that while they have reached out to Bryant's representatives for answers they are not going to get a warrant to go looking for the baby Capuchin.

Memo to the Folks:  I have no issue with PETA (spokeswomen....)

Memo to the Folks continued:  But, like anything else, I do have a problem with fanaticism.

Memo to the Folks continued:  Still, I have to admit that a) I truly sympathize with the argument that animals should, for the most part, be left alone, b) in general, many (if not "most") humans believe that they can do what they want, when they want as they want regardless of impact of their whims and c) celebrities (athletes, musicians, whatever) tend to be the most prolific of human offenders.  Unless you happen upon an animal crossing your urban path  and in need of your assistance then leave the critter alone.  After all Capuchin's have families and feelings too.....
