Meet soon-to-be-former Fairfax County Virginia Police Officer William 'Bud' Walker. That's his mug shot below...
Bud has been a bad boy, or at least he has been accused of being a bad boy by the unnamed administrators of various unnamed pornographic websites who have accused Bud of uploading pornographic videos of children to their pornographic websites.
Prior to his arrest on child pornography charges Bud had been the spokesman for the Fairfax County, Virginia Police Department. While he is accused of uploading videos of children to pornographic websites he has not {yet} been accused of making / producing the footage. In the interim Bud is on paid administrative leave while he remains in custody without bond. (** Note that jail is not "fun" for anyone but for cops, well it's pretty much their worst nightmare, and it usually requires isolation, of what they call "solitary confinement" for the cop / inmate's own protection, making it essentially torturous which, in the event of a kiddie pron cop, is not a bad collateral consequence.)
Since he joined the Fairfax County, PD in 1999 Bud has held a number of roles including that of, gulp, school resource officer at a local high school from 2006 and 2009. Naturally this has prompted an ongoing investigation into Bud's dealings with child pornography. Per Police Chief Ed Roessler: "All of this information is communicated to our school community in case there are any potential victims we are unaware of" and anyone with further information regarding the case is asked to call 703-246-7896.
Child porn is just plain sick, twisted and, most importantly, criminal. You don't have to be a child sex offender (i.e. you don;t have to actually touch a kid) to promote further exploitation and harm to kids, and when you are a cop, much less if you happen to be "Officer {freaking} Friendly" (at least that's what we called the "school resource officer" when I was in grade school), well then you've crossed way too many lines.
