Brazen Thief is Caught on Video Stealing a Ring off the Finger of a CORPSE which was Lying in an Open Casket inside of a TX Funeral Home ~ Call Michael A. Haber, Esq. @ 1-888-SHARK-8-1

Meet 41 y/o Kalynn Homfeld of Odessa, TX.  That's her mug shot below...

This classless woman was arrested after walking into a funeral home and stealing a ring off of the finger of 88 year old deceased Lois Hicks (pictured below).

Lois passed away on April 7, 2016 in Odessa, TX.   She was a mother of ten (10) and is survived by eight (8) of her children.  She also has many grandchildren and even great grandchildren, all of whom suffered the humility of Lois' brazen theft.

Homfeld walked into the Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home in Odessa, asked to use the bathroom, instead went into a viewing room and was caught on video surveillance reaching into the casket to steal a ring right off of Lois' finger. With the dead-woman's ring in her hand Homfeld left the funeral home, driving off in her maroon four-door Saturn.

In the surveillance video (which you can see by clicking hereHomfeld is clearly seen walking straight over the casket and then leaning into the body. She also appears to be talking to the corpse.

After a few seconds, she can be seen trying to get the ring off the finger, which takes some effort.  When the ring is ripped off skin was literally torn from Lois' finger. Homfeld then walks out with her hands folded across her body.

While Hick's family are shocked and appalled at what happened, they are comforted by one thing... the ring was purely decorative (being made of pure plastic) and had been put on Lois just for the viewing (the "jewel" cost about $10.00).

Not that there is anything at all funny about this crime but if there were then the joke would be on Homfeld who was arrested for "theft from a human corpse" and who faces two (2) years in prison.
