Repeat DUI Driver w/ Suspended DL Smashes through Residence Complex Gate & Hits 17 Parked Cars while trying to Park his SUV ~ Call Michael A. Haber, Esq. @ 1-888-SHARK-8-1

Meet 25 y/o Tony Futch, 25, of Orlando, FL.  That's his mug shot below....

Tony, who, at age 21 in 2013 (upon information and belief) picked up his first DUI (and for which is license is reportedly still suspended) just committed an epic FAIL! by making the p*ss poor decision to get behind the wheel once again while obviously impaired (and sans a driver license).

In the early morning hours of Friday, August 18th, 2017 (at about 4:00 am), Tony drove / busted his blue 2003 Chevrolet Blazer through the physical gates that lead into The Gate Apartments complex in Davenport, FL and then subsequently smashed into multiple (17) parked vehicles.

Some residents were awoken by the early morning commotion while others found out later in the morning, but in any event 17 different people ultimately exited their respective apartments to find that their parked cars had been damaged.

All in all Tony destroyed a perimeter fence, a second security gate and he crashed into 17 different vehicles, scratching and damaging some and wrecking others.

Although Tony refused to provide a breath sample (meaning that there is no quantifiable statement of his BAC) police allege that they smelled alcohol on his breath and that he resisted arrest, leading to his getting tasered (and picking up an extra criminal charge), and independent witnesses reportedly told CBS News that Tony was "so out of it he couldn't even talk."

I have not been able to verify what the booking charges were through either the Osceola County Jail or Clerk but, theoretically, Tony could be charged with DUI and 19 additional counts of DUI with property damage (1 for each of the 2 destroyed gates and 1 for each of the 17 cars that Tony hit) plus the gratuitous resisting count.

While Tony was carted off to jail his neighbors (er, victims) were left to deal with the damage to their cars, the aggregate damages being presently unknown (although one neighbor reportedly referred to the scene as: "It was a disaster last night, a disaster").

Memo to the Folks:  DUI's suck.  There are no 2 ways about it.  They plain suck.  And they suck worse if an accident is involved (much less 17 of them) and most especially if someone is injured or dies. But the only thing worse than getting a DUI is being a repeat DUI offender (especially one which carries minimum mandatory jail time, like Tony - a 2nd within 5 years of his previous DUI).

Memo to the Folks continued:  Drink responsibly my friends...

Memo to the Folks continued:  Alcohol has been leading to bad decisions for time immemorial.

When it comes to the subject of drinking and driving, the best advice that you are ever going to hear is:  "Don't do it!  Get a DD (Designated Driver), not a DUI".

Be smart{er than Tony Futch}: Don't drink and drive, but, if you do, just say "NO{thing}", don't blow (in FL your 2nd subsequent refusal is a crime) and call me stat at 305-381-8686, 305-798-2220 or 1-888-SHARK-8-1.
