Cops take to Social Media / Twitter to ID Man caught on Surveillance Video Stealing Property from Traffic Fatality Crime Scene ~ Call Michael A. Haber, Esq. @ 1-888-SHARK-8-1

On Sunday, October 15, 2017 at about 9:00 pm, while an unidentified pedestrian was crossing South Semoran Boulevard in Orlando he was struck so hard by a vehicle that was traveling northbound that his possessions went flying and he started dying.

There is no known video of the traffic fatality but there is surveillance footage (which you can watch by clicking here) of another vehicle coming to a stop in the middle of the street, a man exiting that vehicle and, according to the Orlando Police Department, "stealing" the unfortunate pedestrian's belongings.

According to the OPD: "As pedestrian struck on Semoran 10/15 @ 9pm lay in the road and dies, this man [emphasis added] stole his belongings."

The OPD would also say that the impact of the crash caused the deceased man's belongings "to be catapulted off his body and onto the sidewalk", and surveillance footage, which was taken from a nearby store, shows, among other more incriminiationg  things, a car driving before coming to a halt in the middle of traffic near the incident.

The video shows the man getting out of his vehicle, walking over to the sidewalk and grabbing something (which the OPD believes to have been either the victim's wallet or cell phone) that was lying on the pavement.

The video shows the man getting back into his car and the vehicle driving off as the victim lay dying nearby.  OPD maintains that this man did not call 911 and, naturally police are looking to ID this callous individual, stating:  "We believe this was a horrific act, and it made it difficult for detectives to immediately identify the victim, who died at the scene."

Memo to the Folks:  This is one of those stories that just, well... a picture is worth a thousand words...

Memo to the Folks continued:  As of the time of preparing this blog post, upon information and belief this man is still unidentified.  If you have any idea who he is then please, pretty please Call CRIMELINE at 1-800-423-TIPS.

Memo to the Guy in the Video:  I'd like to give you the benefit of the doubt and believe that you had some intelligible reason to stop in the middle of the roadway, exit your vehicle, retrieve some treasure and that during the course of these events you somehow failed to notice either the pedestrian as he was struck or the fact that there happened to be a dying human being lying nearby... but, apparently just as it is for the OPD, that's a hard pill for me to swallow.

Memo to the Guy in the Video continued:  So, not withstanding the "why" of things, you have a chance at redemption.  Call a lawyer, hire her/him and let a skilled and trained professional help you to help yourself.  Let me be clear:  The cops have your picture, they have the make and model of the car that you were in, they have plastered it all over social media, it has been disseminated and a BOLO has been issued... it's only a matter of time before you are identified, located and compelled to attend what promises to be a most unpleasant Q&A at the OPD.  There is no way to go back in time and erase facts (most especially facts that are captured on crispy clear video) but there is a way to protect you... and that starts and ends with a criminal defense lawyer who is 100% serving your interests by orchestrating the inevitable to happen on offense (your terms) as opposed to it occurring in the natural course of events, on defense (cop's terms).

Final Memo to the Folks:  Free Legal Advise... Always assume that Big Brother is watching.

When it comes to the subject of "Cops, Courts and Constitutions" you should always have a skilled and experienced criminal defense attorney who is focused on serving your interests.  While we can't stop the cops from arresting you, as your legal counsel Michael A.
