Argument at PA Gas Station over Smoking at the Fuel Pump ends with a 2 - 6 Year Prison Sentence for a Woman who Sprayed Gasoline on another Woman ~ Michael A. Haber, Esq. @ 1-888-SHARK-8-1



Warning:  This is one of those you have to research it to believe it stories (rest assured that I did, and now I do)...




Meet 51 y/o Kimberly Brinton of Meshoppen, PA.   She looks like a nice and pleasant enough lady on her Facebook page....




But in July, 2016 Kimmy was rather catty, at least she was when she ended a tiff with another woman, Tami Donovan, at the Mehoopany Dandy Mart gas pumps with extreme prejudice...




Per reports, Kimmy was pumping gas into her car when Tami, another patron, approached and told Kimmy to extinguish the cigarette that she was presently smoking (you know, like the signs all over the place at gas stations, not to fail to mention common sense, indicate...).




For reasons unknown Kimmy wasn't interested in being told what to do by Tami (or by the signs or by what is common sense to most folks), she reportedly persisted in concurrently pumping and puffing and this prompted Tami to decide to take matters into her own hands and to extinguish the cigarette by dousing Kimmy with a face full of windshield washer fluid (a/k/a "non-flammable soapy water").




After accomplishing her objective Tami got into her car intending to drive away but Kimmy reportedly threatened that she would "light her a** on fire", then pointed the gasoline nozzle at and proceeded to sprayed Tami twice with gasoline from the pump.



Tami stopped and got out of her car to tell convenience store employees to call 911, and that is when she slipped in the gasoline and broke her arm.




When police arrived at the scene Kimmy was no longer there but, thanks to video camera footage she was easily identified, located, and, judging from her mug shot, she was happily arrested.




Fast forward to Tuesday, May 9th, 2017 when Kimmy pleaded guilty to "Risking a Catastrophe" for the gas station incident, as well as to another and reportedly unrelated drug charge (which, although separate and distinct, may explain her bizarre booking photo), and she was reportedly sentenced to serve 2 to 6 years in prison.




Memo to the Folks:  I am not going to waste a moment advising against the perils of smoking (much less smoking at a gas pump), or against picking fights with folks that you don't know or about any of the many "take-aways" from this story save one (and you can read my admonition below)...
