Internet Sting Op Exposed: Court Documents Reveal that the FBI Ran 23 Child Porn Websites on the Dark Net in an effort to Track and Catch Deviants ~ Call Michael A. Haber, Esq. @ 1-888-SHARK-8-1

Unsealed court documents that were reportedly obtained by the ACLU (American Civil Liberties Union) revealed that the FBI operated 23 child pornography websites which were placed on the "Dark Web" to lure and catch child predators.

Ars Technica (which you can access by clicking here) published a 99 paged affidavit (which you can access by clicking here) by a FBI Special Agent who sought (and received) authorization to publish child porn dark websites which were "dedicated to the advertisement of child pornography, the discussion of matters pertinent to child sexual abuse".

The sites were reportedly designed to identify users, to monitor "methods and tactics offenders used to abuse children, as well as methods and tactics offenders used to avoid law enforcement detection while perpetuating online child sexual exploitation crimes" and, in addition, the FBI reportedly hoped to distribute malware to users of the sites so that they could be identified.

So why is this important?  I mean most of us can agree that...

And, apart from those who are into child porn, most folks don't take issue or have a problem with the cops luring would be child molesters, rapists, kidnappers, or murderers by putting up kiddie porn websites.  But what about other things?  Cops are not limited to kiddie porn.  They can, and do, things such as: Posing as a children or deviants when in fact they are looking to bag anyone foolish enough to take the bait; Construct and maintain bogus websites to lure customers for a variety of goods or “products”; Place online ads for a variety of contraband (from weapons to drugs to prostitution to body rubs...); and the list goes on.  In fact some cops never leave the police station, instead their job is to literally sit at a work station and troll the internet looking for folks who go to, look in, download from or upload to targeted (and usually, but not always "deviant") sites. Memo to the Folks:  You have no constitutional protection when you are using the internet.  Your IP address is not privileged, it can be tracked and cops can, and do, conduct a variety of sting ops on the internet.
