Fast Food Fail! Intoxicated Man is Arrested in the FL Keys for DUI (& other charges) when he Orders Food at McDonald's Drive-Thru and Passes-Out in Car ~ Call Michael A. Haber, Esq. @ 1-888-SHARK-8-1

Gloom, despair, and agony on me (er, on 28 y/o Kevin Yonson)...

At approximately 10:30 pm on Tuesday, October 4th, 2016 Monroe County Sheriff's Deputies responded to the Marathon McDonald's drive-thru after an employee called and advised that someone had placed an order at the drive-thru and that the car had remained in the lane with the occupants asleep inside.  Responding Deputies observed precisely what had been reported by the McDonald's employee:  A man behind the wheel and a woman in the passenger seat, both sound asleep.

Per Deputy Christopher Schwartz, when he approached the car he saw the "female asleep, mouth open, with drool coming down her face".  He tried to wake her but she "continued to sit with her eyes closed."  She finally woke up and "looked at me as if she had no idea where she was."  She then woke the male driver and, as the couple rolled down their windows, police reported that they smelled alcohol coming from the car.  Deputies also stated that neither Kevin nor his female companion had a driver's license.

Deputies reported that Kevin showed obvious signs of impairment and that he was uncooperative from the get go.  As he was being handcuffed and placed into a patrol car for DUI, Kevin reportedly struggled with deputies, at one point throwing his elbow back, allegedly intentionally attempting to hit a Deputy in the head.

Things went from bad too worse for Kevin when a records check revealed that he had a suspended driver's license, three prior DUI convictions and that he is a convicted sex offender.  Kevin wound up being arrested on charges for DUI, DWLS, Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer, Resisting Arrest with Violence. Resisting Arrest without Violence, Obstruction of Justice and Failing to Register as a Sex Offender and he now faces 33 years in state prison.

When it comes to the subject of drinking and driving, the best advice that you are ever going to hear is:  "Don't do it!  Get a DD (Designated Driver), not a DUI".

Be smart{er than Kevin Yonson}: Don't drink and drive, but, if you do, just say "NO{thing}", don't blow (in FL your 2nd subsequent refusal is a crime) and call me stat at 305-381-8686, 305-798-2220 or 1-888-SHARK-8-1.
