55 y/o Key West Mom is Arrested after mailing a Controlled Substance to her Daughter, who was in Jail on Cocaine Charges, now they're in the same Jail ~ Call Michael A. Haber, Esq. @ 1-888-SHARK-8-1

Meet 55 y/o Nadine Carroll.  That's her mug shot below...

Nadine's is now in the same Florida jail as her daughter, 27 y/o Shannon Carroll (pictured below right).

Shannon was arrested on September 15th, 2016 for driving on a suspended license and possession of cocaine, and she was being housed at the Stock Island Detention Center in Key West.

In early October, 2016 a Sheriff's Deputy who was sorting through inmate mail came across a letter which was addressed to Shannon, which was mailed to her by Nadine and which reportedly emitted a strong chemical smell.

Having no right to privacy in jail, the Deputy opened the letter and inside he discovered a substance which was quickly determined to have been "Buprenorphine" which is a synthetic opioid (and a controlled substance).

On Thursday, October 13th, 2016 Monroe County Sheriff's Deputies arrested Nadine for "Introducing Contraband into a Correctional Facility" (see Florida Statute 951.22 by clicking here), a 3rd degree felony which is punishable by up to 5 years in state prison (and a $5,000.00 fine) proving once again that the family that possesses narcotics together stays together.... in this case in jail (although maybe they will get house arrest...).

Memo to the Folks:  Per F.S. 951.22 it is unlawful for anyone to introduce into or possess upon the grounds of any county detention facility, or to take or to attempt to take or send therefrom any of the following articles: Any written or recorded communication; any currency or coin; any article of food or clothing; any tobacco products; any cigarette; any cigar; any intoxicating beverage or beverage which causes or may cause an intoxicating effect; any narcotic, hypnotic, or excitative drug or drug of any kind or nature, including nasal inhalators, sleeping pills, barbiturates, and controlled substances; any firearm or any instrumentality customarily used or which is intended to be used as a dangerous weapon; and any instrumentality of any nature that may be or is intended to be used as an aid in effecting or attempting to effect an escape from a county facility.
