Another Synthetic Marijuana Epidemic: 20 people OD on "Darkness" within 2 days in Harrisburg, PA ~ Call Michael A. Haber, Esq. @ 1-888-SHARK-8-1




Synthetic marijuana... It comes in a variety of packages, it's readily accessible and it's a big problem.





The latest synthetic marijuana is called "Darkness", and in a two (2) day period twenty (20) people have overdosed in and around Pennsylvania's state capital city of Harrisburg.



Dauphin County District Attorney Ed Marsico is investigating and has put out an alert after the numerous overdoses and emergency room doctors are reporting that users have experienced advanced stages of delirium with one that wound up in intensive care. 



The synthetic pot in question was packaged with the word "'Darkness" and officials suspect that some chemical or other substance was added to the synthetic pot. Most synthetic marijuana contains man-made chemicals that act on the same cell receptors in the brain as THC does in natural marijuana, and researchers have found instances in which chemicals in synthetic marijuana can bind much more strongly to cell receptors than THC does in marijuana that is grown, producing stronger effects, such as an elevated mood or feeling of relaxation.  Unfortunately synthetic marijuana is also known to have psychotic effects on some users, which can include extreme anxiety, confusion, paranoia and even hallucinations.
