CA Probation Violator Leads Cops on High-Speed Chase while Driving "Scooby Doo Mystery Machine", Flees on Foot and Manages to "Get Away with it too" ~ Call Michael A. Haber, Esq. @ 1-888-SHARK-8-1




Meet 51 year old Sharon Kay Turman, a California probationer with an active warrant. That's her below...



Sharon was wanted for probation violation and when police tried to stop her (while she was driving her 1994 Chrysler Town and Country minivan which is painted to look identical to the "Mystery Machine" from the classic Sunday morning cartoon "Scooby Doo"), she took off, and she fled from pursuing CHIPs vehicles at speeds of nearly 100mph.



Police claim that Sharon drove through traffic with "little concern" for other people's safety.  Unlike a typical episode of Scooby Doo, eventually, Sharon did get away [with it], shaking police cruisers, and a helicopter, after abandoning her Mystery Machine in Tehama County.


To date Sharon's whereabouts are unknown.

Three Fraternity and Three Sorority Members are Arrested at the University of California Santa Cruz for Possession with Intent to Distribute MDMA ~ Call Michael A. Haber, Esq. @ 1-888-SHARK-8-1




A group of three "Asian" Fraternity (Lambda Phi Epsilon) brothers (Benny Liu, Cesar Casil and Nathan Tieu) and three "Asian" Sorority (Alpha Kappa Delta Phi) sisters (Mariah Dremel, Hoai Nguyen and Cecilia Le) at the University of California at Santa Cruz were arrested after police discovered that the students were running an illicit MDMA (Molly / Ecstacy) drug ring. 




The students, all age 21, were reportedly caught receiving 5,000 MDMA tablets (with a street value of approximately $100,000.00) in the mail from overseas (in total, the drugs seized weighed a total of 4.1 pounds). 





The drug ring came crashing down when a postal inspector discovered suspicious packages bound for three residences in Santa Cruz connected to the students. 




Homeland Security was called in...




and DHS informed local police who then worked with the DEA to stage the bust. 


According to websites for the fraternity and sorority involved, both described themselves an "Asian-American interest" groups, with Lamda Phi Epsilon setting high standards for academics, social experience and community service and Alpha Kappa Delta Phi sorority aiming at advancing sisterhood, philanthropy and scholastic excellence.  


On the other hand...



MDMA (a/k/a "Molly" or Ecstacy), which is often produced at illicit labs in China and shipped overseas, is a psychoactive drug that is known to cause users to experience an increase in energy and is often used at nightclubs and raves, but it can also prove deadly if taken in high doses.

Newly-Wed Husband is Arrested for Fleeing and Eluding, Reckless Endangerment and Reckless Driving after a 20-mile Chase ~ Call Michael A. Haber, Esq. @ 1-888-SHARK-8-1



Meet 27 year old Michael Smith of Tennessee.  That's his mug shot below.



According to the Mt. Juliet, Tennessee Police Departments' formal statement (which you can read by clicking here) a Mt. Juliet Officer spotted Smith's Chevrolet Equinox swerving on Interstate 40.  The officer slowed down to get behind the driver but Smith accelerated and nearly struck the patrol car.  A 20-mile chase ensued that saw Smith slamming into concrete barriers and scraping crash guard rails.  Dash cam video (which you can see by clicking here) shows the chase, including sparks flying as the front end of Smith's bumper strikes the side of the Interstate. 




Smith ultimately pulled into a Nashville restaurant parking lot and gave himself up. Per Mt. Juliet Police Department Lt. Tyler Chandler: "He made statements to the officers that he had 'just got married and was trying to process everything' and 'just had a life crisis and a lot on his mind.'''  While it is unclear if Smith had actually gotten married that day and was fleeing from his own celebrations it is clear that his car had "Just Married", complete with illustrative hearts, written in huge letters on his rear window.




Smith was charged with evading arrest, reckless endangerment and reckless driving. Mrs. Smith, if there is a Mrs. Smith, was unavailable for comment.

Chicago Woman is Arrested for DUI after Cops are Dispatched reference a Car Bring Driven with a 15 Foot Tree Wedged into it's Grill ~ Call Michael A. Haber, Esq. @ 1-888-SHARK-8-1



Meet Chicago's own 54 year old Maryann Christy.   That's her mug shot below.



Maryann was arrested for DUI after cops were dispatched per citizen reports of a car being driven through a residential neighborhood with a tree embedded into it's grill.



After tracking her car down, officers couldn't help but notice the 15' tree which was in fact wedged into the moving vehicle's grill.



Cops observed that that both of her airbags had deployed, likely as a result of hitting the tree, and noticed that Christy smelled of alcohol.  She took and failed field sobriety tests before being arrested.



Christy reportedly told police that she recalled hitting the tree somewhere near her home, around three miles from where she was arrested, but she could not remember the exact location.  After arresting her for DUI the Roselle, Illinois Police Department posted the extraordinary images on a new Facebook page (which you can access by clicking here) and they have since been shared more than 20,000 times.



When it comes to the subject of drinking and driving, the best advice that you are ever going to hear is:  "Don't do it!  Get a DD (Designated Driver), not a DUI".
