Alcohol. It's got it's pluses and minuses. Sometimes it leads to a lot of fun and sometimes it leads to tragedy. Sadly, this story is an example of the latter....
Meet 24 y/o Phillip Everett (that's him below), formerly of Greenbush Township, Michigan, now of, well, the afterlife (where / what ever you believe that to be).
At about 4:00 am on Sunday, July 9th, 2017, responding to reports of a man driving a golf cart without headlights along a Michigan road, State Troopers came into contact with Phillip, who was then arrested for DUI.
Troopers placed Phillip inside of a patrol car and then went to secure the golf cart but, as Phillip managed to get himself into the squad car's driver's seat and drive off in the marked police vehicle, apparently there was a police security FAIL!
With the Troopers' attention focused elsewhere Phillip sped off, and he was found about 20 miles away, just north of Saginaw, MI, in the mangled, wrecked police vehicle.
The wreck was so bad that car parts were strewn everywhere...
It was also so bad that Phillip would later die from injuries suffered in the crash.
Like Lucy, MI State Troopers now have some 'splaing to do...
Memo to the Folks: To steal a tag line - Drink responsibly my friends...
When it comes to the subject of drinking and driving, the best advice that you are ever going to hear is: "Don't do it! Get a DD (Designated Driver), not a DUI".
Be smart{er than Phillip Everett}: Don't drink and drive, but, if you do, just say "NO{thing}", don't blow (in FL your 2nd subsequent refusal is a crime) and call me stat at 305-381-8686, 305-798-2220 or 1-888-SHARK-8-1.
