Meet Austin, Texas Lyft driver Allen Edmonds. That's him below...
Allen was arrested for DUI while on the job, driving for Lyft.
On Tuesday, March 8th, 2016 Allen picked-up Lyft passenger Alex Grant (pictured below) who was catching a ride to work.
Per Alex, he had gone less than three (3) miles before the vehicle was pulled over for swerving.
Describing the journey to local tv Alex said: "[After a while] he started kind of getting over a lane by accident and I was like, okay, maybe he's just not paying attention. [At this intersection] the light was green and he brakes and then got over a lane in the intersection and at that point I was kind of like 'Okay, I'm going to ask him to stop'. Before I could even ask him to stop, we got pulled over." Alex added that when police asked Allen to reach into the glove box for his insurance information he could smell beer on him. After failing a police sobriety test Allen was arrested, charged with DUI and taken to the Travis County jail.
Although he has now been permanently banned by Lyft, surprisingly, Allen reportedly had a prior DUI and possession of a controlled substance arrest from 2004. Lyft's website claims that all drivers are subjected to background checks, but apparently they only look for arrests that occurred in the last seven years, and Allen's was 12 years aged.

When it comes to the subject of drinking and driving, the best advice that you are ever going to hear is: "Don't do it! Get a DD (Designated Driver), not a DUI".
Be smart{er than Allen Edmonds}: Don't drink and drive, but, if you do, just say "NO{thing}", don't blow (in FL your 2nd subsequent refusal is a crime) and call me stat at 305-381-8686, 305-798-2220 or 1-888-SHARK-8-1.

Be sure that before you choose your lawyer that you make absolutely certain that they specialize in your case. I needed to hire a DUI lawyer and although it was listed as one of the many cases this lawyer handles, they only had one new attorney who dappled in DUI in college. Luckily I found a great lawyer in time to help me.
