A Feisty Couple who "were all over each other" during a SWA Flight from GA to Las Vegas get a Warning from Cops and possible Fine from the FAA ~ Call Michael A. Haber, Esq. @ 1-888-SHARK-8-1




Southwest Airlines: You simply can't miss their colorful planes and personnel.  



SWA is also known as being a loving airlines...
Perhaps a little too much so for an unnamed couple who were flying on a SWA flight from Georgia to Las Vegas early Saturday morning, August 19th, 2017.


Flight crew on board the Southwest Airlines jet reportedly contacted police after the couple refused to halt their amorous in flight activities.  Per an article in the Las Vegas Review Journal (which you can read by clicking here), McCarran Airport spokesman Michael Oram said that the couple were reportedly "all over each other" during the flight and although they had been asked to stop their activities by cabin crew they continued, because, "apparently they just couldn’t control themselves."
When the aircraft arrived in Las Vegas on Saturday morning Metro police met the jet and spoke to the couple.  Per Lieutenant John Liberty, watch commander at Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department:  "Nobody on the flight wanted to file charges. The flight crew left and did not even file a statement so we have nothing to charge them with. They were identified and all the information will be turned over to the FBI.'  Lt. Liberty also stated that at that time authorities were unaware of the existence of any photographs or videos circulating on social media concerning the incident, and so no one was arrested and the apparently amorous couple were left to continue their Las Vegas adventure with a mere warning.




Memo to the Folks:  Cops generally won't make an arrest without either a complaining witness or independent evidence of a crime (see the "corpus dilecti" rule, i.e. the facts and circumstances that constitute concrete evidence of a crime, like, for instance, a corpse) but, when it comes to being a flight passenger, if you disobey a crew member's instructions then the FAA can still propose civil penalties against you (i.e. the FAA can fine your ass).

MO Daycare Worker Duct Tapes a 4 y/o Girl to Chair, Posts Picture to Snapchat and Prompts DCF Investigation ~ Call Michael A. Haber, Esq. @ 1-888-SHARK-8-1




That, below, is (upon information and belief) a picture of a 4 y/o girl duct taped to a chair at Little Learners of Florissant in Florrisant, Missouri (or so says the Missouri Department of Children and Family Services, which sent the picture to the girls' parents, Elysha Brooks and Christian Evans...).




The picture came to the attention of MO-DCFS after it was allegedly taken by and then posted to Snapchat by one of the girl's teachers.




According to mom (Elysha Brooks):  "Received a call from a hotline and they sent me this pic of my baby. This incident supposedly happened in March and the daycare still fail to inform us of the situation.  Also failed to document a incident of a rock being lodged in my baby ear that almost damaged her eardrum. (the "eardrum incident" allegedly occurred before the duct tape incident, the child was taken to the doctor and a small rock was removed from her ear) I'm looking at a picture of my daughter duct-taped to a chair, and her facial expression, I can just imagine how she felt."




Now Mom wants Little Learners of Florissant in Florrisant, Missouri shut down.




Says Elysha (who is pictured below with her daughter):  "I won't be happy until that daycare is shut down, for one, and whoever did this to my child, whoever it is, either – it's not an either – she needs to be in jail... Seeing your child duck taped to a chair, seeing the anxiety, seeing how scared your kid is, knowing for one that you're not there to protect them and knowing for two that you have people around that would stoop to that level to hurt your child puts you in a crazy mind state."




The daycare center has not yet publicly responded to the allegations and no arrest has yet been made.




Memo to anyone caring for a child:  Duct Tape may fix everything, but it's not to be used on unruly kids....

SD Man Strangles and Cuts Off his Pregnant Girlfriend's Nipples with Scissors during Horrific Domestic Violence Incident ~ Call Michael A. Haber, Esq. @ 1-888-SHARK-8-1



Meet 45 y/o Tony Deval Ledbetter of South Dakota.  That's him below...



Tony is in stripes / custody after having been arrested on October 11, 2016 for, and on Friday, August 18th, 2017 pleading guilty to, 8 counts of domestic assault on a pregnant victim after he beat, strangled and then cut off his girlfriend's nipples with a pair of scissors.



According to police, back in October, 2016 Tony and his girlfriend were having a dispute about the current state of their relationship during which Tony reportedly "punched and slammed" the woman's head to the ground.  In an attempt to stop her from screaming and alarming neighbors he then started to strangle / cut off her airway with his forearm.

When that was unsuccessful Tony reportedly took a blanket, stuffed it in the her mouth, sat on top of her and, for reasons unknown to anyone but Tony the Psycho, he then proceeded to use a scissors to cut off the woman's nipples.



The newly nipple-less pregnant victim somehow managed to escape the scene, and both she and the baby are reportedly healthy.



Not withstanding his guilty plea Tony reportedly told the court that the violent act was one of "self-defense" amidst what he allegedly described as having been a two-sided fight.  





For his psychotic criminal behavior Tony faces 120 years in state prison (15 years for each of the 8 counts), although, in exchange for his plea agreement the State has reportedly agreed to seek no more than a 30 year sentence (in this case apparently a sweetheart deal).




A friend of the unnamed victim created a GoFundMe page entitled "Woman Mutilated with Scissors" (which you can access by clicking here) to both help spread the word on domestic abuse as well as provide financial aid to her friend for nipple reconstruction surgery.



The GoFundMe page says "Due to the serious nature of this violence and pending legal action the victim's name will remain anonymous.  Please help financially support the woman who suffered this traumatic domestic violence.  Here is the story.  She is my best friend and my mentor, a hard-working employee, and single parent. She is pregnant with her abuser's child.  Funds are needed for her reconstructive surgery, medical bills, home/utilities, and child care. Thank you for your generous support!"  As of the time of this blog post $10,220 of its goal of $250,000 has been raised.




Memo to the Folks:  Domestic Violence (man on woman, woman on man, woman on woman, man on man, etc and regardless) is never acceptable.  If you don't believe me then please listen to Captain Picard...

A US Citizen is Arrested 2,000 yards inside of the US for Using a Drone to Smuggle 13.5 lbs of Meth across the Mexico Border~ Call Michael A. Haber, Esq. @ 1-888-SHARK-8-1



On Tuesday, August 8th, 2017 25 y/o Jorge Edwin Rivera, a US citizen, was arrested for using a drone to smuggle 13.44 pounds of methamphetamine with a street value of $46,000 across the Mexican border into the United States.




Border Patrol Agents reportedly tracked a drone which had flown into the US over the Mexican border and then found Rivera about 2,000 yards on the US side of the border with the methamphetamine in a lunch box and the 2-foot drone hidden in a nearby bush.




Rivera allegedly admitted using to having used drones (reportedly like the one pictured below) to smuggle drugs five or six times since March, 2017 and to having been paid about $1,000 for the attempt that ended in his arrest.




Although there have been prior instances drones are not usually used for drug smuggling from Mexico because their noise attracts attention, their battery life is short and because they carry relatively small payloads (leaving other preferred and proven transportation methods, such as hidden vehicle compartments, boats and tunnels); but as technology addresses their shortcomings drones are sure to become more attractive to smugglers.
