Meet 19 y/o Mekenzie Leigh Guffey of Hollywood, Alabama. That's her below...
Cute as a button right? Unfortunately, for most folks (Mekenzie included) it's an awful lot easier to look good on Facebook than it is in you're booking photo (Exhibit "A" appears below), and equally unfortunate (again for Mekenzie), apparently she's not the brightest bulb on the tree.
Mekenzie was arrested on Friday, March 10, 2017 in Hollywood, Alabama and was charged with second-degree rape, second-degree sex abuse, enticing a child for immoral purposes, traveling to meet a child for an unlawful sex act, possession of child pornography and dissemination of child pornography... and all of this stemming from her having applied for Medicaid earlier in the month and listing an unnamed 14 y/o boy as her baby's father.
Apart from listing the 14 y/o boy as the father Mekenzie reportedly confessed to police, stating that she had sex with the boy multiple times in her car, that her relationship with the boy started in December, 2016 after they had been introduced to one another via a mutual friend at a McDonald's restaurant, that she was proud of the boy being the father of her child until she found out that the cops were going to be involved. So proud was Mekenzie that she posted a pic of her positive pregnancy test on Facebook with the caption that: "I found it a lot easier to announce it on here than texting all my family & friends individually, but welcoming my sweet little baby October 17th!!"
The initial charges (second-degree rape, second-degree sex abuse, enticing a child for immoral purposes and traveling to meet a child for an unlawful sex act) all stemmed from the police investigation coupled with Mekenzie's stated confession, but the latter charges (possession of child pornography and dissemination of child pornography) came after police reportedly found naked photos on her phone that she and the boy had been sending to one other.
Memo to the Folks: I cannot even begin to add up the number of years that Mekenzie is facing but I can count the mistakes: 1) Having sex with a child; 2) Having unprotected sex with anyone; 3) Announcing your pregnancy that stemmed from sex with a child on social media; 4) Admitting on a Medicaid application that your baby-dadda is 14 years old; 5) Speaking to the police without a lawyer present; 6) Admitting, confessing and providing details to the cops about other and additional crimes; 7) Permitting the cops to access your cell phone; 8) Sending naked pictures to a minor; and 9) Receiving naked pics from a minor.
